2nd Place @TheDayMan with 5 points but the closest tie breaker.

3rd place @963BUSC with 5 points as well, but was further off on tie breaker.

Notes:
The system auto counted the tie in interceptions as a loss.

Not everyone posted their tie breaker scores so the 2nd and 3rd place winners were picked using the scores from the list of 7 people at 5 points who posted scores.

Not all people posted their pics in this thread, so the season standings in the spread sheet are now shot, which is fine, we are moving everything to the pick em's board anyways.

Finally, I will work on rebuilding weeks 1-3 and open them up for you to re-enter your picks from this thread sometime this week. We do have the scores from the previous weeks so we will know if you cheat folks.

The new job is kicking my ass, so they may get rebuilt one at a time.

OK Folks-

Here is a thought I had, and I am wide open to suggestions. My new job is insane, but I am able to leave work at work most days, it has also allowed me to drop my second job (bouncing). This means other than my kids soccer games on Saturday's I have a fair bit of time to just be a dad and hang out on weekends.

Keeping in mind that @Vitamike has some stuff to handle and @WhiteMamba has an entire forum to run, I thought I might run some interference on the pick em's.

Now that I am trained up on the online pick em's I have a few suggestions that I would like input on.

1. Last week was the only week with only four games left for the rest of this season. I would like to suggest that from here on out we make each week worth 10 points (excluding weeks with only 4 games). This would exclude future weeks when there are more than 9 games. However, outside of the first few weeks of the season each year there are about 4-6 games in a given week. My thought is this would avoid undue benefit in being good at OOC games allowing people to build up an insurmountable lead.

• This would mean from here on out on weeks with 5 games the game of the week would be worth 2 points as always, but we would have 4 teasers. On weeks with 6 games we would have 3 teasers. This makes each week of "conference play" worth 10 points. At most the early season weeks would only be worth 13 points and this keeps the playing field some what even.

2. I would like to restrict the teasers to turnovers and offensive categories (rushing, passing, most yards). Finding defensive stats is a pain in the ass (as I discovered today). It is possible, but we would have to restrict it to sacks as that is the only defensive stat that is easy to find.

3. I have refined the score tie breaker to be the Mean Differential of the peoples scores picked. This means people that pick the winning team right are only eligible for the tie breaker. I use an equation of (Favorite score predicted -Favorite actual score + Dog predicted-Dog Actual)/2 this results in a actual variance. So you are not penalized for over or under predicting on either side of the score.

4. Unless Mamba says otherwise I will post the spreads Tuesday night/Wednesday morning every week.

We have 5 games next week. My suggestion would be Cal at Utah as the 2 point game. This would mean we need a teaser in each game of the remaining games. I will leave it to Mamba to determine teasers unless he is too busy.

Does a 10 point week for most weeks outside of the first 3 weeks sound feasible to you all?

Again I am open to suggestions, but I want to give Mamba and Mike as much help as I can and this is easy for me to set up.

I don't see why not. I say that if you are running the show, you can set the parameters. It isn't like we are paying to have all of this fun . . .

I am not running this, I am just trying to help out. I just thought this might make the overall pick em's a bit more fair across the season.

Please note, the NW v. Stanford game fucked me, so being able to get more points helps me (and others) though I think my dog may be sore after my picks this week. My only winning picks were 2 points for Stanford and Oregon covering. I need to go wash my mouth out on that one.
