I keep saying Andersen isnt anything special but no one listens to me
Winners and Losers of College Football's Opening Weekend

Loser: Gary Andersen's Job Approval

  1. According to OddsShark, Oregon State was a 3.5-point underdog to Colorado State. Instead of keeping the score close, though, the Beavers disappeared in the second half and lost 58-27.

"This is uncharted waters for me, to be honest with you," OSU coach Gary Andersen said following the game, per Gina Mizell of The Oregonian. "That's embarrassing."

However, as disappointing as the loss is, that's not entirely true. The 31-point drubbing marked the sixth 30-plus-point loss of Andersen's 25-game tenure in Corvallis.

Andersen signed a one-year contract extension during the offseason to take him through the 2021 campaign, so his job security isn't necessarily an issue yet. A few more showings like that, though, and it might be.

So no comments about Stanford?

I know they played Rice and all but, anyone else got that feeling Shaw's team could be back on the high track this season?

They are quietly flying under the radar. I know that Rice is no way to judge Stanford as far as how this season may unfold, but their RB, Bryce Love, is scary good.

Shaw is a master at recruiting OL beasts for his team.

Yeah, there defense gave up some big runs in the 2nd half, but they had 2nd 3rd team in by then....
Cardinal could once again be the sleep giant about to unleash hell on the conference if this offense is firing all all their cylinders!

Thankfully we--USC--play them at home this year. I have Stanford and Washington State as two games we could drop this year if we aren't careful

I was most impressed by the way the ball got distributed. They hit 4 tight ends, plus Weddington, Tyler and Irwin in the passing game. Did not expect that from Shaw so early in the season. Additionally, he played at least 4 true frosh in the game.

Not sure how much you can take away from any game you are heavy favorites in. There is no doubt they continue to have the most talent/depth on both lines in the North, if not the whole conference. I still want to see their QB and RB's do that against a real defense and I want to see that defense actually challenged, but of course they are dangerous. UW @ Stanford is at least the most likely one the dawgs drop if they are going to drop any game this year.

I still think UW is the more complete team overall, even if Stanford has the beef in the trenches.
