Kind of how it's been since I was a toddler. UCLA for sure but ASU has always gotten the scraps of the great talent that couldn't qualify for the Cali schools or your Mutts.

But who cares the AC will again decide the north and hopefully we don't shit the bed for what the 5th straight year.

5-star QB Matt Corral, who decommitted from USC a few weeks ago, has committed to Florida.

Well looks like he was searching for a school with as little stability at QB as possible and a chance to come in and play right away . Florida has that. two freshman fighting for the starting spot , one a four star the the other a two star.

The only thing that jumps off the page on those recruiting rankings is how bad of a return UCLA and ASU have had on their ranking/results ratio.
Why do you think that is?

Just wondering what others think the root cause for UCLA, I have my thoughts, and I'll share them after hearing from you and some others if you all care to respond.

I don't claim to follow UCLA enough to really know. Certainly injury has played it's part and that can happen to any program. It's the nature of football. But clearly there should be enough depth with the type of recruiting that program gets to weather such storms and still perform. It has to go to the top that it hasn't. Not sure Mora is the answer there.

State looks like a program on the rise. Get a few more impressive wins that those recruiting numbers will grow. The future of the duck program will impact you more than any other team.

We are happy to be back to relevant enough for people to hate because of where the program is at.

Funny how our actions can affect others deeply without any intent or knowledge on our behalf.

Thanks for this Easter egg gift Wally! :suds:

Pops :rip: would always say Warshington for some reason, never thought about it much b/c that was just Pops.

Kind of ironic that you posted it this week too, the old man's Birthday is in a couple of day here on the 26th.

Just wondering what others think the root cause for UCLA, I have my thoughts, and I'll share them after hearing from you and some others if you all care to respond.

Here's my opinion. I think UCLA gets more talent than the majority of PAC teams except USC and Washington (latly)and Stanford. Oregon has been an outliar by getting specific types of players but thats a whole different argument. The problem with the Bruins is they have the talent spread out . It's one great RB and nothing behind him a WR or a TE and maybe one great O lineman a decent one and then the rest who arent that good. The same for defense. One great Lineman a great Linebacker and maybe a really good saftey and then the rest arent good or just don't play up to their potential. You can have a great offense and so so defense (Colorado)and stay in games (most of the time) you can have a good defense and average offense (Utah) and stay in games but if your talent is so spread out it doesn't make one unit dominant then your Fkd. You're better off with lower rated players who stay together and jell. But UCLA loses a lot to the NFL every year.
And then theres Mora. I think he had his chance and now isn't putting his best effort. He's run off so many assistants I think his staff is full of people coaching for themselves not for Mora. He just comes across as an assshole

I said Washington has gotten more talent. You go up and down the rosters and tell me who has more talent. Yeah UCLA has gotten maybe some higher ranked players but as a team Washington has more talent. Petersen coaches them up better too.

The last sentence is correct. Petersen does coach them up and yes Mora has done less with more than most D1 coaches. If Petersen had the recruiting rankings that UCLA has had I could see Washington blowing the doors out of just about everyone.
