Wonder if Cueto might consider a nice, one year deal since his big time deals have all but disappeared on him? And I have no idea what "nice" would mean honestly.

But he sure screwed himself by not accepted that $120 mil from the D-backs.

Saddles.................I am a fan of JD. That doesn't mean I don't think he makes some costly mistakes at times.

Here's one I remember a little too well.

Padres Receive: 1B Adrian Gonzalez, SP Chris Young and OF Terrmel Sledge

Rangers Receive: C Billy Killian (minors), RP Akinori Otsuka and SP Adam Eaton[/QUOTE]
I couldn't believe it when we made that deal. That one stung

Hell, that one still stings! Gonzalez has been on of the best overall 1st basemen in baseball ever since that trade.

Yeah Cubs have to be early favorites. They tank. Pick well and fill in the blanks with cash. Current MLB formula

Except without the drugs. ha

And ya know, I hold no grudge about the move. I bet you can take any GM in baseball and over a ten year career he's got more than a few warts he like to have removed. Besides, it was real early in JD's career and he certainly didn't make this move without a lot of input.

Oh well, how about that Moreland? ha ha

Watch it happen. Maybe the splits make sense

I knew almost nothing about the guy until reading the above attachment. His numbers seems fine to me. Now it comes down to $ and years committed. Then we can evaluate it, if it does indeed become real.

Oh it probably will happen. He will probably start off hot and then get hurt and we will never hear from him again ala Jeff Baker, Kevin Kouzmanoff, Kyle Blanks etc etc.

Heard a rumor that Texas is interested in Archie Bradley from the D'Backs. And Kela or Tolleson are being talked about for the swap. Swapping a late inning reliever for a starter with potential seems brilliant if they can pull it off.

Yes. Evan Grant mentioned it the other day... I'd do Bradley for Tolleson.

That said, with the D'Backs having traded off a young arm already, they may not be willing to part with Bradley anymore.

So how about Texas throws in Chi Chi and Nick Martinez for A.J. Pollock

I think Moreland could still be good. Maybe a change of scenery. I think if he went to Boston or NYY, he'd hit .285/30/90 for a while

If you will space between the quote and your post, it'll work better.

I'm not down/bad-mouthing Mitch. And I agree with you, he may benefit from a change of scenery. However, from Ranger perspective I do think the perfect time to trade him is now.

His history of injuries/recovery time is well documented. As is his slumps. We need to jettison a LH bat anyway, why not his? If that is, we are planning on a Nap type signing that is.

HaHa, I know, on my cell. Gonzalez and Davis took off after leaving. Maybe he just needs someone to believe on him enough to stick with him

Thursday's FWSTelegram had an article saying Rangers were not bringing him back.Read that in the barber shop so I don't have a copy to quote.

Prefer to keep Kela. He still has some room to grow and love his velocity with that nasty breaking pitch. I am okay with trading Tolleson. Thought he was our least effective reliever down the stretch.

I'd like to hang onto Kela too. Like his mental toughness as well.

Tolleson had a marvelous overall season for us. But I still won't have a problem trading him.
