I think I mentioned a few weeks back that we are well positioned so that if the starter has to leave after 5 we are going to be okay. That is unless it happens almost every night.

Definitely. A good reliever can bring back a really good return.

And that's why Tolly should close, because he's expendable and the last 3 outs are typically not the most high leverage in a game.

Tolley is at best our third best reliever in the pen, and probably the fourth best if we're being honest. I'd be very intrigued at the notion of letting him close and then flipping him at the deadline for a much needed piece. Then Dyson or Kela could slide in.

Well all of this is based on little to no regression from Diekman, Dyson, and Kela. Let's hope they can all continue to throw strikes the way they did last year. If they do Tolly will be traded for some extra offense I would imagine. I also hope either Freeman or Faulkner can make stand out as a lockdown lefty.

Freeman was really solid at times. I'm pretty optimistic on him.

Relievers can change so much from one year to the next that I think I will wait to see how they are pitching during the season before I decide who is our best and second best and so forth.
