I have to say... the folks who report on the National Football League are appearing more and more like the folks who report for TMZ. This story with Ben and the 9ers is beyond a joke.

The football blog at espeon had two 'writers' go back and re-watch the game from last season to determine if there was dirty play

It just seems like they're more concerned with getting the most shock and awe, instead of substance. I'm not giving a free pass to Roethlisberger.. he should know how sensitive this topic is, right now.

At the same time, he was answering a question by one of the more respected voices in sports journalism. What Ben said isn't earth-shattering. All teams' go after the others weakness.

The sports media looks more and more familiar to what our country's politics have become. I hate that. I follow sports to get away from that sensationalist bullshit.
