These are most certainly not the people anyone with a moral conscience could ever condemn. It is the people who have the ability to make it on their own steam but willing choose to burden others that are unacceptable. Sometimes people need help and it should be available to them. It should not, however, be available to people who simply do not feel like pulling their own weight.

There is a major distinction there.

We all need help now and then but I am refering to the pricks who make a career out of living off others!!!

Doing all you can do to raise a family does not in any sense mean your milking the system!!!!!!!

I have no problem helping someone that is trying to make it in this world ... being poor isnt a crime .. its the able body people that do nothing and dont want to do anything and expect to be taken care of cause they are entitled .. and non citizens also that are here illegally are the ones that I have the problem with

I grew up poor,I know all about it,living in a house that most of you wouldn't set foot in,wearing cloths that were bought at a rumage sale,having to depend on someone elses charity to get by,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

a lot of these so called deadbeats are folks just like my mother,a broken home a mother raising kids by herself,good old dad is either a drunk,dead or in jail and this isn't about race it can happen to anyone,,,,and you guys want to throw these people to the wolves

I agree with y'all. Nothing wrong with folks who really need help asking for it, to get back on their feet. The ones who WON'T help themselves can starve, for all I care.

And Ghost is right about the oil companies and big corporations...they're just as bad as any welfare cheat. Bleeding us dry, running prices up, and all the while shipping good jobs to other countries. So help me, if I hear Mitt Romney arguing for more free trade, I'll vote for Obie!
