I was 15 when it happened,I watched and listened to a lot of his game,,,,,,he once hit a home run when they were trying to walk him,it was a playoff game,,,

And I remember, when he died, people standing on shore in...was it Nicaraugua?...waiting for him to walk out of the surf.

it was a huge blow to the pirates and their fans,the game was never the same for me after that,,,,,seemed like the times changed right there and baseball started a slow down hill run in my eyes
