I don't know, the border is getting to be a scary place these days. I used to go down to South Padre, Brownsville, and over the border to Matamoros for spring break in college. I wouldn't do it now...but I'm also not 20-23 years old looking for a week long party.

It's not the heat its the humidity. Its actually not bad down there. Especially near the coast.

I live about 7 hours north of there and frost means it was a real cold night here. I was in talks (sort of) about a job in St. Paul. My wife said I could go ahead and go, but I would be going alone.
