Obviously, ConEd (or whatever it calls itself these days) caved in to the IBEW. And shame on the company for doing so.

Maybe the company was afraid that the union crews would stop working. Maybe the union threatened such a stoppage. I don't know.

All I do know is that the families of anyone who dies needlessly should sue the power company (AND the IBEW, if it influenced the decision) for wrongful death.

I dont know about con ed but our contract states that the company can use contractors during extreme emergencies like this one ..but I dont have to like it .. I just gotta do my job ... I have been to alot of places around the state and out of state after tornadoes... so I was just giving incite into what was going on.. the union crews would not have stopped working .. we pull together in times like this .. wouldnt have liked it but would have worked

And not to get into a heated debate but the Power Co from Georgia that was turned away by the Jersey Union....y'all will be happy to know they went to NY and are there helping!!! And rightfully so....NY is in a lot worse shape than Jersey!!! Not down playing what happened in Jersey, but there are people still on Staten Island that they havn't even gotten to yet!!!!

one last note from me on this and Ill drop it .. there has been many times after storms that I have been on 14-16 hour shifts untill everyone was back in service ... I have had trees on my roof and down in my yard .. everyone else was cleaning up getting their houses fixed and taking care of their familys .. my house and family had to wait cause I was helping everyone else out ... I dont mind that cause its my job .. but I still would have liked to have been there for my own before helping everyone else ... thank god I have a wounderful family that understands and supports me in what I do .. jewlz has spent may hours during these times with my union brothers wife's helping out the community feeding people and giving out supplies that were provided by our union to the community.. but i guess the union and us workers are still rotten sob's

Anybody know why Dwyer is questionable or maybe out for this game? I don't recall him getting hurt last week, and he's given us two good performances in a row.
