Not major holes that can't be filled in a season or two. RB? Not that tough - get it via the draft. WR? Dump Pryor to free up some $$ & get a FA & draft another WR. Another OL - sure via the draft or perhaps cheaper free agency. A safety? Again - via the draft.

These moves are all possible even w/ Cousins signing. Also - stop portraying it like Cousins will count $30M+ / yr against the cap. You know that is not how much it will count against cap.

Perhaps you could make a case against Cousins not being the game if all other facets of the offense were doing at least OK. However kind of hard to come to a conclusion when he currently has a very banged up O line, shitty WRs and pretty much no running game. Still not sure how you see that as being primarily Cousins fault (& yes a replacement rookie QB could do much worse - remains to be seen).

Hey.. IM not the one saying Kirk is too expensive and we should draft a rookie. :suds:

I agree with you, we need to resign him and fill our holes in the draft. And select FA's.

I am going to go out and say it. KC is clearly a franchise QB of value and is on his way to being a top 5 QB in this league. I won't use the label "elite" as I think there are only 2 or 3 elite QBs in the league at any one time. If this FO cannot sign him after this season, it will go down as one of the worst blunders in this team's history. And there have been some major ones.

Unfortunately, the QB position isn't even in the top 5 of problems with the team, in my opinion. You gotta look at the running game, front office and coaching changes first. Need a RB, need a decent RB2, need another solid pass protector, need to look at getting another decent WR because unfortunately, what you got ain't cutting it when your leading pass catcher is a RB who can't run the ball. Then you look at what changes can be made in the front office or coaching staff. Then maybe you look at the QB position.

I agree, just as it is true with everything else, upgrading in other places creates the need to upgrade in places where at first blush there was no need to do so.

Again dude, take out the hyperboil, give me a GOOD reason not to resign a franchise QB?? IM waiting.

I mean unless you really want to challenge me on the cap ramifications of signing Kirk long term and how you think this will doom us to cap hell??

Wanna go that route??

there are reasons. im not getting into them now. I love how you think money has nothing to do with it.

There are two reasons Dean.

. You were done with Kirk after that pick as ehe in your opinion is the main reason we did not make the playoffs last year.

You watch all this coverage of Wentz, Goff and Watson and go.. man I wish i had a QB like that.

And you are right, money has dick all to do with it, because as i have shown you numerous times, even at that $30M a year number which you so dread... we would have to TRY to get into a cap bind. But I will play, how bad off are the Lions, Raiders and Colts after paying their QBs??

I'll wait for you to make up an answer. :D

I was impressed and I was equally impressed by Cousin's who does not have as good a team as Wentz does.

You have post after post about Cousin's and not a fucking thing about the D or how bad Swearinger got beat. Do you watch the entire game or just the part you want to see?

I had to laugh at your "I am in lock step with shark" ..... he believes the FO will screw this up. He has supported Cousin's for some time.

Well, if you were impressed, then so was Dan Snyder/Bruce Allen who has clearly demonstrated a desire to get better at the position. That is the answer to the "why?" question that is the subject in my posts.

I really can't deal with this sort of thinking, shit gives me headaches, to wit: If I wanted to talk about Swearinger and the defense, I WOULD HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT SWEARINGER AND THE DAMNED DEFENSE. Yes I watch the whole game, but I'm also able to see the bigger picture which answers the question WHY?

We all support Kirk so stop pretending that there ONLY one way to do this. Blind homerism, blinds absolutely! This is part of the problem when the subject is Kirk Cousins. Since you have correctly stated that @Sharkinva believes that Bruce/Dan will screw this up...how is it not related when the subject is WHY will they screw this up. If you're honest with yourself you'll admit that the entire thread is all about that!!

Sty, here's what I don't get. You support the notion that Bruce and Dan will fuck this up (which I agree there is a very strong likelihood, in fact I believe they already have). But if KC isn't the best we can do (what I believe your position is), then if they don't resign him how is that fucking up? I would think you would actually support them letting him go.

First let me say that Dan and Bruce have ALREADY screwed this up. Can we start there?

BTW: I had just posted this in response to another question. Maybe it helps you!!

Better yet, let me put it this way....working on a scale of A through F, where "F" is the starting place Kirk moves the team that he's on from the "F" position to something respectable, whatever that is, for that particular team. That would be pretty good considering the "F" position from which that team was before him.

The goal however is winning, one or many SB's. This can be done with Kirk, however the team around him is what's going to get you there!! He is in effect a Facilitator and not the impetus on which that can be done.

So at the risk of offending some one, and if I do my bad.... basically you see Kirk Cousins as this

Name me one QB that is not a "facilitator" as you have defined it.

Nope, that's ridiculous!! He would more likely in this (pictured) circumstance be the person who held the hand, walked with or supported this champion. In effect a facilitator.

im not figuring out the offseason plan in October. You still think we are doomed if KC leaves. As of right now I can go either way.

Name me one QB that is not a "facilitator" as you have defined it.

Sure, Prescott, Wentz, P. Manning, Brady, Newton, and a few others.

for good measure there are the facilitators, like Flacco, E. Manning, Tannehill, Cutler and Bledsoe for the older guys.

Here's what you're going to say in response.....Well, Sty his stats say that he is in line with the first group right?

Well, his stats say NOTHING about the TYPE of player that he is, just that he produces impressive numbers.

Dude you wrote the QB off in JAnuary and had already planned out how we could draft a QB next year.

Now you aint going to speculate??

way too early. I asked you about Gruden and you gave me no response. If KC leaves does Gruden get fired?

50/50 on that. Since I dont think Bruce really wants to resign Cousins, it will depend on how the rest of the team looks.

So no I dont think Gruden gets fired in either case, because they like what Gruden does, and he doesnt challenge Bruce publicly.

well if Gruden banged the table for KC then Bruce would want to fire him. You really think its a macho thin b/c Brcue didn't bring in KC he is gone no matter what

I think Bruce Allen is only outclassed in his egocentric approach by Dan Snyder. I think if Bruce had another option, he would have never tagged Kirk this year. And he used the Exclusive tag because he THOUGHT he could use it to try and fleece the Niners in a trade. So yea, if Kirk continues solid play and isnt signed, it will be 100% Bruces ego as to why.
