I cannot go 10 minutes without Charlie Strong landing another blue chip recruit

There is no reason this cannot be a top 5 class....

More to come

I can think of a couple reasons.
You already have 26 recruits. How many more can you actually take? And if it takes 30 recruits to get into the top ten isnt it more quantity more than quality?

Its 25 and 31 is the number Texas can take this year.

After Charlie Strong kicked half the players off the team, they need anything they can get.... and even it's just "quantity", they'll still be 3* recruits.... not everyone can be a Heisman winner

Texas has more room. They have at least 6 more schollies to fill.

And Strong is not simply sitting around now. He knows that commits can waiver and de-commit.

Until they sign, he has to recruit 24/7.

I am extremely optimistic to see the energized recruiting efforts in a more competitive environment for Texas.

Isn't that the 3rd QB? Another reason I hae recruiting class rankings

Yeah, we could possibly be only returning 1 scholarship QB next season, so needed QB's in this class.

can look at the composite rankings:

Tennessee is #3 have 28 recruits at 89.41 avg
USC is ##5 have 21 recruits at 91.46
a&m is #8 have 22 recruits at 89.99 avg
Texas is #9 have 26 recruits at 88.42 avg

quantity vs quality is sort of a misnomer. Texas has had those small classes, like 18 recruits, and still be in top five.

I think the top ten is all roughly similar, except for Alabama: is #1 have 25 recruits at 93.15 avg.

Why don't you like them? Just curious

Keep in mind I lived through Mack Brown recruiting, but here it is. Class rankings strictly measure talent, they do not measure distribution. Think about the Tenn example of 3 QBs. Each additional QB is has less value, as you can only play one. I noticed this after watching Texas finish with top 10 classes and recruit only 2 OL. How can you have a top 10 class with only 2 OL? Clearly the class has major issues. Happened again with a top 15 class with 0 DL. The class rankings would lead you to believe Texas had top 10 type talent, but look under the hood and you saw Texas had 6 scholarship OL and 3 DTs (excluding true fish) by October

Kind of a crazy recruitment for him. He originally committed to Ole Miss, and then LSU and now Oregon.

Sounds like bandwagon?

Ole Miss was riding high then got beat by LSU so he switched to them. Now Oregon is in the NC so he has switched to the Ducks?

5* runningback Damien Harris commits to Alabama. This guy played great in the UA game.

With this year being Henry and Drakes last year, Scarbrough and Harris are possibly going to be the best RB combo yet at Bama.

4-star DB flips from LSU to Oregon.

Ugo Amadi

Odd to be thanking a "talent development" company for helping him make the decision, especially when Oregon is involved. Not bright

I'm not overlooking Tyren Jones though. His time is coming.

Oh yea no doubt. I look for Scarborough to play a Kenyan Drake kind of role, where he plays runningback but can also split out wide and play receiver.

Oh and what do you think our chances are of getting CeCe Jefferson??? He seems to be the last big recruit left for us. I say about 15% chance we get him.
