Meh.... The league actively tries to fuck itself over, but it's basically impossible. They have such a huge following, teams play once a week, television contracts, fantasy football, big advertisement money, etc., etc., etc. Even with the horrible leadership, watered-down product, greedy owners, they still can't fail. One day it might matter, but for now, football is popular despite itself.

I figure the Bengals are playing out their remaining years. Sometime within the next decade they'll need to significantly renovate or tear down PBS - Or they'll be a team that continues to play in declining conditions as ownership does nothing. If the league is still popular, they'll have cities that want them. If the league starts to decline in popularity, it will lead to a different model where the Bengals stop trying to be competitive (not that they are now). I think any fans that hold onto a fairy tale notion that the Bengals will win a championship one day, are just deluding themselves.

apparently any time a player's head is below or even with his shoulders and he makes a tackle they can call it a foul.

they've over complicated it though, so I might have it completely wrong.

basically, it just gives the refs another tool to arbitrarily control the outcome of a game.

the Bengals have never put that much importance on the OL.

we had a great one back in the day, with Munoz and the gang, but after that the low priority on everything except for the blind side tackle has been glaring for years.
