I was far less impressed with what Philly did last night compared to Thursday night. They got Alabama OT Tyler Steen and Illinois S Sydney Brown at the top of the 3rd after a slight trade down. I felt both were meh selections. They filled needs but felt like reaches from a team not picking again now until the 6th round.

Steen has good versatility as a swing tackle who has played both sides. Philly announced he would play guard, also, which is their one open position on the starting line, RG. I suspect he will be a backup OT.

Brown surprised me most because there were still other safeties on the board with more apparent ability and fewer warts--Brown has a reputation for missing a lot of tackles. But he won over people over at the senior bowl and tested well, and Philly seems to think he has upside.

OL in theory should be in a good place.

I didn’t like the Taylor move.

I would’ve just kept Wylie, but sure it’s not a disaster

Surprised they didn't take Jones, who is Orlando Brown that is happy to be a right tackle. After they revuilt their line with mid and late round picks who am I to doubt their pick though.

There is something obviously wrong with Jones as a prospect to fall like he has.

Some mocks were thinking the Chiefs would trade up in rd1 to take him.

Brown is a missile with great timing in coverage. Not a centerfielder which we all want to stop the big plays, but he's a playmaker closer to the line of scrimmage. His closing speed is great for a stockier safety and he gets his hands in the way at the catch point. I'm pumped to have a safety like that again.

Needed to add a young guard. Need to have Oline depth to get through 20 games like the Eagles need to do. Steen's got great tools to give to the best Oline coach in the league. I was hoping O'Cyrus would keep sliding, but Steen fits.

I'm not sure we picked the right year to trade up, but will hope for the best, instead of the bust (i.e. Mayfield and Darnold).

The talent/ceiling for Young is so much higher than those two. Most important factor is protecting him especially early in his career

Yeah, I also questioned using a second round pick a few years ago on what looked to be a backup QB named Jalen Hurts, so take all my draft opinions with a big grain of salt.

My guess is that Philly wanted Torrence or Avila and they went sooner than the end of the second round. Torrence nearly made it to their pick.

So I guess the Bengals remove the RB and TE positions from the team. A new innovative West Coast offense. Cool.

There’s always the possibility to trade a late round pick for guys like Henry, Swift, Cook, etc…

It would be interesting to see if the Bills consider him as Spencer Brown insurance, but they won't likely be in position to take him. Putting him next to Torrence on the right side would be a lot of beef...

I’ll give ya a 6 because he’s pricy and because you aren’t going anywhere anyway this year so you’ll take it.

Tenn taking the big hit, not that pricey for the acquirer

Plus you wanna keep him from Cincy

Nah, I would prefer Swift to be honest. He’s a Philly guy and he’s been misused by a garbage franchise. He’s like a 1.2 million base salary on the cap. Eagles don’t need a Derrick Henry. They need someone to compliment Gainwell, Penny, and Boston Scott. I really don’t care what the Bengals do.
