Well yes. A win is a win but I am sure you want the Lakers to be playing better so that they can get that 18th Championship and keep pace with those bastards in Boston!

The Lakers are flawed and maybe they can't be fixed this year. When you lose to the ClipJoint on the Crypto Center court, the one you call home and play and practice there, you have some serious problems. What a joke this team is and their internal state of being gutless and lazy REMAINS!! I doubt they go anywhere this year post-season. In fact, they may have to play-in again or maybe they won't even make the playoffs.

One problem with this team is that you can't really bench someone for poor effort/play. The depth is nonexistent.

The front office slow-footing any trades is criminal, wasting another age-defying season from Lebron. He's been so hot from 3 of late that he's pushed his season average to 40% despite that horrible dry stretch in December. AD is clearly not 100% and really needs a capable backup that can allow him to either have a shorter minute game and/or a day off without torpedoing their chances of winning.

In addition, JJ is playing Reaves and Lebron too much together instead of staggering them. They don't really have a 3rd playmaker (Gabe isn't really one), so when they're both off the floor, the offense is crippled. They need a reserve playmaker (and a backcourt defender IMO).

Even if they want to go somewhat cheap at the deadline, there are options out there. I don't expect them to use both 1sts, but hopefully they could use 1:

Trade 2029 1st and lift the protections on the 2027 1st (from the Westbrook/DLo trade) along with Christian Wood for Walker Kessler. Lifting those protections frees up the 2027 2nd for trade elsewhere (the top 5 protected 1st converts to that 2027 2nd if the 1st doesn't convey), giving the Lakers 3 2nds to trade elsewhere (along with their own 2025 and the Clippers 2025).

Trade Rui/DFS/Reddish/2 seconds to Toronto for Bruce Brown.

Trade Gabe/2nd to the Bulls for either Ayo or Carter and Torrey Craig. (Craig can help Vando backfill for Rui's shrinking role as DFS takes over the starters minutes.)

If Toronto or the Bulls insist on expiring contracts, redirect some portion of those 2nds to a team like the Wizards/Hornets/etc to send Rui or Gabe there for expirings as a middle man.

5 players out, 4 players in frees up a roster spot to sign a free agent to the roster (promote Koloko, hold it for a buyout candidate, or sign a street free agent?). Maybe they add Hayes into one of these deals to open up a second roster spot.

PG: Reaves, Carter, Fultz?
SG: Christie, Brown, Milton, Bronny (redshirt lol)
SF: DFS, Knecht, Craig
PF: Lebron, Vando
C: AD, Kessler, Koloko?

Your 9 rotation guys for a playoff run would be Reaves, Carter, Christie, Brown, DFS, Lebron, Vando, AD, and Kessler. Maybe Knecht gets specialist minutes when a shooter is needed, the other guys are essentially reserves for injjuries/foul trouble situations.

Redick and the Lakers have already stated that Hachimura and Reaves are not going to be traded. I do like the lifitng and trading the First rounder and Wood for Walker Kessler. That would be a beneficail trade all-around.
