The "lining up off the line of scrimmage" penalties

I watched those 2 plays back where we got called for lining up off the line of scrimmage, and I gotta say.............I never even knew this was really a penalty until today.

I've watched a lot of football in my time...........watch as many games as I can take in every single week.........and I see linemen lined up a half step off the line like that EVERY single game, and they do it about 30-40 plays a game.

Why all of a sudden today does this weird ass rule come out of the woodwork? That penalty KILLED us the 2nd time. I mean I was so pissed I about broke the TV on that 2nd one.

What the fuck is up with that call though? Seriously. I sat there and watched NW's linemen doing the same damn thing.......that was unreal.

I've heard a ton of illegal formation and illegal procedure penalties..........thousands of them over the years. But it's never an Offensive Linemen who is 3 inches back too far......I mean that shit is just weird.

Yea, I get that........but why the hell is it all of a sudden being called now?

Like I said, NW was doing it too. Every team does it every single game. My mind was absolutely blown when Taylor's awesome play got called back there in the 2nd half because of an Offensive Linemen being lined up 3 inches behind the rest of the line.

You have to be pretty cot damn picky to throw that flag there!

The call that bothers me most is the personal foul on Stafford that resulted in us not recovering a muffed punt inside their 10 yard line and we had to re-kick....

Is that some rule I'm not aware of that makes that a re-kick situation? The penalty was well down field, and judging by the lateness of the flag and that the few players in the picture all seemed to be slowing as if the play was over, how is that not a dead ball personal foul?

That should of been imho Husker ball with a 15 yard penalty to give Huskers the ball 1st and 10 at like the Wildcat 25 instead of having a 15 yard penalty and having to kick again....

The refs just hate the Huskers.

They almost made Taylor throw 3-4 INT's today because the refs were letting D lineman come into the backfield virtually untouched.

They also made NU's punt returners fumble a couple times, and if it weren't for the refs NU's defense would have intercepted at least 3 balls tonight.

Fucking refs.

I was really confused by that penalty as well, Driaz.........

If they tack on 15 yards from the end of the play, we likely take a 10-0 lead........

Instead we end up going down 7-3. I'm so SICK of having speak about all these "IFs" and shit......it's frustrating!

I just thought that OL call was really really bogus, and the 2nd one came on a play where we had the ball all the way out to midfield.

Just wanted to know why those penalties were called.........they were absolutely ridiculous. I think they deserve some attention. I can watch several games every single week, every single year, and you never see that called.
