Who is watching? I heard episode 1 mentions Peoria where MJ played his first professional exhibition game. I hope they delve into the retirement/suspension when he said he wanted to spend time with his family, but went right into baseball.

Difficult to tell from the horrible thread title, but there is already a thread on this topic.

lol

He was talking about the title of the other thread.

You missed it because it was started by one of the "lesser lights" on here and the title is "Upcoming Bulls documentary likely to be a Bronsexuals paradise".

On the 2nd thought...I don't see how you could have missed it. :dhd:

I'd rather post here and avoid the sewer like atmosphere that exists in every Hurricane thread.

Still a ways to go, but I'd say the show is good, not great. And I was expecting great because they've hyped the hell out of this. Instead, it was more like I figured it would be. We've already seen a lot of this footage and story from the MJ doc they did a few years ago. About the only difference so far is everyone is (rightfully) shitting on Jerry Krause. It's a fine doc and of good quality, but its not like I'm getting anything new out of this

Would be amazing if by the end of this series, it lead us into some sports talk

I'd rather talk about how big Pippen's suit was in one of those late 90s clips. You could fit another Scottie Pippen in that thing

Maybe he was thinking about joining The Talking Heads if the basketball thing didn't work out for him.

Yeah. I hope so. I was still entertained for sure, but very little I hadn’t seen/heard before.

For the younger crowd I would hope the main thing they come out of this with is at least some understanding of how pure savage Jordan was. He simply did not care, he would cut your throat, or 4 hall of famers throats all at the same time. Sure he needed help, but that didn’t stop him from at times making whole teams look ridiculous.

Not only that, but he would cut his teammates throats too if they weren’t meeting his lofty expectations.

Savage is the right word.

I kind of expected the first couple of episodes or so to be mostly stuff that folks like us who are old enough to remember it already knew.

But my son, for example, was born in 1997, so he knew very little of that stuff. Only the little bit that I've told him.

Hopefully, as it continues, we'll start seeing stuff we didn't know.

Yeah part of getting old is realizing there are huge and growing numbers of adults who don't even know the stuff we do about past sports events. My 15 year old didnt know anything about MJ until he saw that

Yeah, my son grew up watching Kobe. Kobe was always considered the closest thing to MJ since MJ, so with all of the comparisons, he would ask the occasional question about "that Michael Jordan guy" that I would answer for him.

This documentary reminds me I'm aging out of the target audience for this stuff
MJ is history to these young uns like Dr. J and Kareem are to me.
