I say drop the Cousins sweepstakes, forget requiring a QB at 5 and pick BPA, and swing with Kelly next season as our QBotF:suds:

I said he is the first dump. Not "was"

It is a prediction.

Where did you see he was staying? That seems near impossible to me. Or just stupid and makes no sense to keep him. For the money he got he was horrid!

Debrief: NFL Scouting Combine winners & losers, league edition

Aqib Talib and C.J. Anderson, Denver Broncosveterans (for now): Both key members of the team's Super Bowl championship appear to be on the way out after Broncos executive John Elway refused to address their status this week. That came in stark contrast to Elway promising that struggling tackle Menelik Watson would be back and Elway talking up third-year quarterback Paxton Lynch. It also became clear that defensive end Derek Wolfe would be back, along with wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas. Denver wants to clear cap space for a potential run at Kirk Cousins, with Talib and Anderson being two likely cap victims.

No one really knows what they think of Kelly but if you
Just allocate a certain amount to the QB position (say $20MM) I could see Denver paying MCCarron or Keenum and developing Kelly

And if that doesn't work, there's always Jake Browning.

Elway said a few people were safe at his combine press conference. Remember things change in a hurry in the NFL. He is safe right now because well the Broncos don't have a RT. If they take one high in the draft then wouldn't shock me to see Watson cut. They could also be waiting for a Post June 1st cut to open up even more cap space.

Yeah saying someone is "Safe" before any offseason activity doesn't mean much to me.

Especially when I look at a player like Watson that played below average and has an inflated 2nd year on his deal.

Yeah- Really makes zero sense to keep him.

He did not play well and once again finished the season injured.

Unless he takes a HUGE paycut Ill be shocked if he is around.

I would also add with him that right now because he is still injured if the Broncos talked about cutting him now I wonder if that could be some kind of violation and they would have to pay some kind of injury settlement. So might as well just wait until he can pass a physical then make that kind of decision. Right now there just isn't much hurry. Yes they need some cap space to get Cousins but I don't think they have to do much to make that happen beyond just Watson.

I’m not sure Denver has enough cash to guarantee $60-70MM

Trade our first to SF for their first and second. Then trade both of our seconds to Buffalo for their first first. Pick Quenton Nelson at #9, the best OT available at #21, a RB and an ILB in the third. Our O-Line is Bolles-Leary-McGovern-Nelson-Draftee. Watson is our swing Tackle. Paradis is back up C/G. OK, I'll put the crack pipe back down now.

Josh Allen probably helped himself as much as anyone at the combine.

Cut Watson and leave the spot open for the Oline - hoping Dlinemen would trip on the turf trying to get the QB so hard (that's improvement - couldn't be more down on a guy than I am Watson).
BOOOOOO BOOOOO don't say this!

I don't see much in Allen past his arm. So I wouldn't draft him - I like Kelly better.

Who would you rather have Talib in his prime or Zach Martin? Two different type of players. Both All Pros.

LOL of course they are different types of players. One is a CB one is an OG.

I think you would have to go with Martin by age standards. Martin is 27, Talib is 32. That's 5 years.

However - Talib is a gamebreaking playmaker - which means I'd take him.
