Playoffs are in striking distance right now...so, if your team wins it all, who do you think deserves the 'hand off' first. It's always interesting to see who gets it second. First is basically automatic, but second shows you who the leader is in the room most of the time. I realize most of you all may think this is some sort of jinx, or thinking ahead, or...whatever, but I thought it was an intriguing topic.

For the Pens I'd say it goes to an elder statesmen who hasn't won it yet. So...Brent Johnson. :)

Johnson might not be a bad choice for the Pens....but I can't agree....I'm thinking Brooks Orpik.....a real leader on the ice....he's one of the older Penguins....a fine choice if you ask me...

After the Flyers win the 2013-14 Cup, which I predicted about 10 years ago, give it to the Conn Smythe winner, JOACIM ERIKSSON!!!!

I wish it could be Malhotra. Maybe it can be?

i sure hope so ... they still have his locker "stocked" with his jersey and equipment, right next to Kes

Gillis said he will be travelling with the team and being there for every game

Maybe but Arnott would have been on the team for a few months whereas Knublekov would have been on it for 2 years or so. Hand it to John Erskine!!

Arnott wouldn't be surprising to me. Sid handed it to the new comer in Guerin. Just shows how important those vets are. I just always find it intriguing to see who the captain chooses. Sometimes it's obvious, other times it's not so much.

Is Arnott really more of a veteran presence than Knublekov though???

Good point. I lo...I lov...Knuble's a good player. I'm still bitter that the Pens didn't get him like they were rumored to. There are a few Caps players I like, him, Laich (heh heh heh...like), and Backstrom.

I understand...it's really just a question of asking, who beyond the Captain do you have the most respect for on your team. (I feel like Boston's would quite obviously be Thomas).
