The 80s, for me, was all about the speed solos. I started playing guitar around 14 (1984) and would record songs off the radio and sit in my room and attempt learn the song.
Racer X was one of my favorite live bands, living in LA I was able to see them in the mid-late 80s. Paul Gilbert was a guitar god to me.
