before we become just the 2010 champs.

i gotta say, even though the ending wasnt great, it was still a fun season. we saw sabean get aggressive for once in getting Beltran. We sorry him show he's not a fucktard by not getting Mark Ellis(suck it, thermalito). he showed he had balls by cutting Blowand and Te...fuck it, dont wanna say his name. i got to witness, in person, as MadBum gave up 8 runs in an inning(okay, so thats nothing to brag about.) got to find out my cousins been living under a rock when i took him to a game and he actually asked me who posey was. later that night, left the game early, dropped him off in richmond, drove to san ramon, and sat down just in time to watch posey get killed. fuck, im seeing a lot of negative now. oh, and the ring ceremony was pretty fuckin awesome.

anyway, im rambling for some reason. post some memories from this season, good or bad, that you will never forget.

Unfortunately, the 2011 season began and ended on May 25. Every other story is a side story.

Beltran / Wheeler was basically in response to 5/25.

Dumper / E-6 would not have happened as it did with out 5/25 (E-6 would have been cut MUCH earlier)

I agree that 5/25 was the darkest day of our season ... but .... there was some light that made things at least bearable - for me it was Vogs and his magical year. I was also thrilled to see Pablo have the year he did. I have to be honest - he did have me worried after his 2010 year.

I think we have a new marketing slogan for the Giants next year (or at least for teh Marlins series): "5/25, never forget"

2012 will be the redemption season, for Posey, for failing to defend our title, for Barry Zito... alright going our on a limb on that one.

Very early, but time to make some predictions (all positive):

Next year:

Bum becomes an elite pitcher.

Pablo becomes a more than a marketing dream; he becomes a legitimate star.

Rowand is invited to spring training by a desperate NL team, makes the team, then totally embarrasses himself again. (positive to me)

I was having an argument about the Phillies and the Giants pitching staffs and the guy didn't have a clue about MadBum. He knew he existed, but not much beyond that. I think, at the very least, Bum will put his name out there. I don't think by any means it will be a reach to expect elite pitching from him. In fact, you can argue he was better than Tim last year, the stats are in his favor. The stats say he was a top pitcher last year. If he can build on that he will be Cy Young worthy.

IF the G's resign Beltran, Huff as an 'odd' year, Posey and Panda have years that we expect from them, and Franchez plays 130 games, than we have a chance to have 3 20-gamers.

It is TOTALY dependent on the offense, though.

I would envision 100 wins in that scenario. Easily.

Pretty much this for me.

I enjoyed seeing Vogs have a great year. It was inspiring and it humbled me as a fan to see someone struggle, be given a shot, and perform at that caliber throughout the season. Even though May 25 sucked - shit happens, not much else that could be done. I'm sure Posey will bounce back. Same deal with Sandoval, it was great to see him put in the hard work that paid off on the field.

For the reasons above, is why I fucking hated Aubrey Stuffed all season. The dude was a worthless sack of shit while others were out there busting their ass off. I am shooting blanks, but maybe that's where the "chemistry" issue may have stemmed from? I don't know. If I was a player on that team, I'd have the shits with someone like that around knowing he's going to get carried all season long.

I can accept Cabrera and Tejada signings. Blame that shit on Sabes, poor SS market - whatever - but I hope Stuffed sits his ass down on the bench until further notice.

Loved watching Vogelsong and Sandoval have great years...and MadBum right the ship after a disasterous starts....he could have tanked given his poor run support. My only real worry....Panda looked like he gained back much of the weight during the season...I hope that he is busting his ass again this off season.

Panda is a naturally big boy. He has to go outside his body's comfort-zone to have the body type he had at the beginning of the season in '11. That is the unfortunate truth. If he starts the season svelte, it should last him the season as he slowly adds the weight back on.

The situation posed to Panda is this...

Do you want to have a successful career? If you do, it has been shown that you HAVE to work for it. When you put in the work, you get results. When you do not, you get THOSE results instead. You are not the type of player who can "phone it in".

I believe that he had more fun in '11 than he did in '10, regardless of the ring. He was a hanger-on for the ring, not a true contributor. I think he wants a ring that he helped earn.

Will he turn in another season on par with '09 or '11? I think so. I believe that '10 was the out-of-the-norm season. I think he has learned that he has to work to be a productive MLBer. He has seen what happens when he gets distracted.

Is this like the final lap Miss Universe takes before giving up the crown? (btw, did you guys see the talent in this past Miss Universe?? yes sir!)

This season was a grinder, no doubt but the 2011 Giants did the franchise proud winning despite all the setbacks against them.

This isn't like the few moments before the curtain falls and the crowds go home, though. The Rangers/Cards will be the trivia answer to "which team won a world series amidst the Giants' amazing run of 5 championships in 6 years?

Gotta rep this if the board allows it!

The gods have intervened and granted the Giants one more day of Champion-hood.

I think we need to listen to the gods and cancel the WS and simply crown the Giants perma-champs.

It would simply be blasphemous to do otherwise, obviously...
