Age is finally catching up with him. He's 44. I was a junior in college when the indians called him up.

I'm 41.

7.22 ERA (MLB worst)

I have to tip my cap to him post 40 tho. For comparisons sake, this is what these guys did after turning 40:

Randy Johnson: 73-52 3.87 ERA 1.135 WHIP
Roger Clemens: 61-33 2.99 ERA 1.137 WHIP
Bartolo Colon: 63-44 3.76 ERA 1.221 WHIP

not bad company for old men...

Yep, he's done. He's just getting shelled in every start. When you're a soft tosser and you can't locate anymore, it's time to say goodbye.

If he doesn't make a quick, drastic turn around, he won't make it to the All Star Break.

Why is he still out there? The dude has made just shy of $115mil in his career. Hang it up and go eat everything.

It's hard for some players to let go. I respect that.

He wasn't great, but he was at least serviceable his last start against Toronto, but his 5 or so before that were absolutely awful, and with Lucas Sims dominating at AAA, Colon won't make it to the AS break without being cut unless he vastly improves.

Just looked up Lucas Sims. Wow, a 0.8 WHIP and looks like he cut his walk rate by more than half. Always a big K guy, I'm sure they felt if he could get his walk rate under control he would be fine.

Rumors are that the Mets want to resign him to a 4 year deal.:nod:

in his last 5 starts, teams are hitting him at a .364 clip, OPS of 1.049

his babip is an insane .380, which will come back down. hes had some bad luck too.

Nah. Garcia has been about what I expected him to be, though he drives me crazy how it seems like every start he looks dominant through 3-4 innings, and then just hits a wall where he can't find the strikezone.

But if we have ANY hope of finishing within a few games of .500 like my goal was preseason, the pitching is gonna have to step up their game big time.
