i will admit that i had higher hopes for this team but in 4 games it has become apparent that we have almost no offense and the pitching is more questionable than i thought possible

We have a team ERA of 2.00 and and a WHIP of 1.19, if that's questionable then i don't know what to tell you

And that was before Lynn's 6 scoreless today

If the offense had squeezed out any measurable amount of runs we would be 5-0 with the performance of the rotation. Gotta be happy thus far. The pen has done a credible job as well.

Silver lining... if Lynn keeps pitching this well, we could trade him to a contender for an elite prospect or maybe two really good ones. Same thing goes for Minor. This season is a lost cause and a farce anyway, so I’d love it if we could use it as a springboard toward an actual rebuild. Hell, put Gallo, Calhoun, and anyone else on the roster on the block and just start completely over from scratch. I’ve waited over 40 years to see a Rangers World Series Championship... what’s 2-3 more years of losing at this point if it actually builds us into an elite team.

since this season is such a joke anyway and teams are almost as likely to wake up one day with half of the team getting coronavirus, I’d say the trade market this year is going to be very awful.

This will probably be the best seller market too, since less teams will be out of it at deadline time.

Virus aside, as Saddles pointed out there will be more teams still with a chance to make the playoffs this year than ever before. 60 games is not a lot of time for teams to gain distance from one another, plus they’ve added teams to the playoffs. So there will be like 22 potential buyers and only like 8 or so sellers. Sellers will have all the power, and there is always at least one or two teams willing to overpay for that one piece they think can put them over the top.
