Some day, I'd like to see a interview with an ex-GM about what goes into the smokescreen strategy of the NFL draft. My first thought was that I would guard my favourite prospects like they were launch codes. However, I realized that since teams trade with each other all day, they probably swap opinions with each other as long as those teams are talking about players they don't think the other ones want. This may have been one reason Al Davis was such an awful GM; the other GMs probably couldn't stand him & didn't communicate with him very much.
I'd like to hear some stories about how a team desperately tried to convince other teams they wanted a guy in order to get someone else. I've never heard people talk about that kind of stuff.
