Barkley nearly broke Dickerson record last year, no-one has come close since Peterson when the Rams were in St. Louis. Do you really draft based on that type of performance?

Even with Barkly's stellar playoff performance in that game, IMHO the Rams were a false start from their 3 SB ring! In that game the Rams scored a measly 22 points!
Noo, Barkley's two performances were two of many when peeps began talking about the middle of our Defense that was a sieve and that we needed help at ILB because Rozebum and Reeder were terrible at stopping the run.

Not really.

They don’t have much invested in Gabriel or Sanders, so you can’t rule them out
A lot of pundits thought Sanders to go in the first round. I believe in pedigree, especially when the kid does what he did in college. Big 12 player of the year, over 4k passing yards, over 70% completion rate (And they threw deep a lot) with not the best protection and nearly 40 TDs and 10 INTs.

I would have been happy with the Rams picking him at 127.

He will play in the league. Whether he will be a stud or not at QB is to be seen. I think taking a 4th round flyer on the guy and staying pat with the RBs we have is not that bad except for one problem, supplanting Stafford. It's a year too early because the 4th round only gives you 3 years on the rookie deal, two years on the pine is too long unless it's a 1st rounder like we will have in next year's QB rich draft.

I missed something. We traded the last two 6th rounders for whom? Chris Paul Jr? They took Paul over King? Stupid.

Can’t believe they took my guy.

Said yesterday I liked Paul Jr and that I might be the only one.

Guess I was right as others preferred someone else.

I really like the pick though, and excellent value for where they got him. Thought he could go in the 4th or early 5th.

The Rams totally ignored CB and back-up OT in a Draft that was at least packed with a host of O-lineman. Typical dumbshit.
Yeah, I didn’t like them ignoring the CB position when the draft had several quality players throughout.

OT I understand. Once they traded out of the 1st, there wasn’t anyone available that was an upgrade over what they have IMO.

And once hey passed 46, there really wasn’t anyone.

And, let’s be honest, the Rams have had some good luck with trades and UDFA for the OL.

Pre-Draft Analysis

Paul is a disciplined and instinctive run defender who led Ole Miss in tackles (86) in 2024 after transferring from Arkansas. He fills gaps and meets running backs in the hole. He slips blocks and keeps his eyes on the back scraping down the line. Paul is light, but he shoots his hands and explodes into blockers. He has great stopping power for his size and can make quick reads to break on the ball. Paul chases until the whistle and breaks on the ball well. In pass coverage, he's competitive in matching up with backs, and he can run with tight ends. As a pass rusher, he shoots gaps and closes well. -- Steve Muench

Should have taken Coby King who himself was an outstanding player for Penn State. Paul is going to struggle in the NFL because he is smallish.

OT need isn't about needing an upgrade, more about needing an heir apparent for Havenstein. Depending on who they have scouted as moldable for the next year or so, they could get that in round 7 or UDFA.

King is the same height as Paul at 6'1. 15 lbs heavier than Paul but considerably less athletic and slower.

Myles Hinton is gone. Another good back-up OT the Rams didn't even bother with in this draft.
