Me too, Unreal. John Johnson's usefulness is becoming more relegated to the role of mentorship for the younger guys. Shula should offer him a coaching job on the Defensive staff of the Rams. His playing days are coming to an end. He'll probably re-sign for the appropriate minimum though, at this juncture.

Tyler Johnson was used sparingly by McVay and the same could be stated about Atwell who simply got lost because of McVay's failure to use both of those guys correctly during the season. Now that Kupp is leaving, Tyler Johnson will probably re-sign for his noraml level of contract-related monies.

WR may be well sorted out other than a replacement for Kupp. He could get cut if not traded by the 17th (saving $7M against the cap) which makes a trade difficult since the rest of the league knows that too. Jackson could be in a similar position (could save $9M by cutting him).
I agree. In both cases, the release option may def be in play. Nobody is biting on either player and the Rams want to move on due to deadlines and preparation for the upcoming Draft.

This is def a good scenario for Kupp and both teams. The Rams should get on the phone and talk to the Stillers about this move.

I agree. This is a really good trade scenario for a guy who is facing being released outright. Unfortunately, the Rams don't have a 7th Round Pick to send along with Jackson. A better idea would be to send Jackson to the Patriots for a 7th Round pick from New England.

As we ALL knew, the Rams were going to accept a Second Rounder in 2025 and a First Rounder in 2026 for Stafford. The Rams should have taken that.

Wow, that's a pretty damn good deal!!! Does anyone know how much cap space we now have after Stafford and Alaric Jackson have signed?

The numbers are not out yet LTRF but what is known is that the cap hit will be better for the Rams and Stafford is going to take less to stay over the next 2-3 years.

He already had a cap hold of 49M and most of that would still have been their responsibility even if traded. Depending on the final numbers, they may have even lowered his cap hit.
I don’t know why his cap hold was 49M.

He was scheduled to make 27M this season and 31M next season, with only 4M in guaranteed money.

That doesn’t equate to 49M.

The Raiders didn’t offer it.

Article says they were unwilling to go that far.

That’s what the Rams were wanting as compensation since the Raiders wanted to keep the #6 pick.

I believe the article eludes to the fact that the Geeants were willing to go that far as long as they could keep their 3rd Overall Pick this year.

I must’ve missed that.

That would’ve been very tempting.

Btw, 9ers only got a 5th for Samuel, so Rams aren’t getting anything of value for Kupp.

At least we don't have to face that pain-in-the-ass Deebo Samuels twice a year now. He was traded to the Redskins for a 5th round Pick this year. Doesn't bode well for Cooper Kupp. That trade puts Kupp around a 6th or 7th Round Pick and may be in the future and not this year.

The Rams may have to cut Kupp outright which would really suck. Maybe they can talk Kupp into a restructure and give him a larger roster bonus if he takes a cut in contract size and only make it a one year deal. The Rams hamstrung themselves by announcing he would be traded too early.

He may end-up being a Draft day trade after they pay him a roster bonus of $7.5 mil on March 17.

Way too many WRs and TEs interviews. It could be a ruse but there are very few, if any, interviews (unless they are doing that this week) with ILBs, and lineman from both O and D. There are some real talented players out there at ILB, and O and D-lineman to NOT bother picking-up at least a player in each category. That would be typical stupid shit by the ShitferBrains Twins and the sad part of this is it could be expected. I smell a 2019 draft coming on now that we lost Gladstone to the Jaguars.
