The recent rumors are the Rams would do that trade if the Raidas agree, DJ. There is also some interest from the Geeants and Green Bay.

If the Rams select a TE of one of the following TEs in this year's draft, Tyler Warren, Colston Loveland, or Elijah Arroyo, expect the Rams to ask Higbee to restructure his contract or outright release him.

Lots of rumors regarding what the Rams are going to do with Higbee if they land one of those three TEs. The Rams still have Parkinson and Davis Allen under contract. Higbee may just luck-out and be retained even though he will command a cap hit of $9.6 million.

So, now a huge chunk of the salary cap has been eaten up, and the Rams only have a late 1st rounder to work with until the end of the 3rd in the draft.

I was hoping they would trade him and get a 1st rounder in 2026 ( along with other picks ) when the QB class is much stronger.

He already had a cap hold of 49M and most of that would still have been their responsibility even if traded. Depending on the final numbers, they may have even lowered his cap hit.

Now we need to see how the Kupp and Jonah Jackson trades are going to work out. The Rams have to push to have these two to get on with it, otherwise the Rams will start having to write roster bonus checks beginning March 17.

WR may be well sorted out other than a replacement for Kupp. He could get cut if not traded by the 17th (saving $7M against the cap) which makes a trade difficult since the rest of the league knows that too. Jackson could be in a similar position (could save $9M by cutting him).
