I know it feels arbitrary but the development between 15 and 18 is dramatic

not to say there aren't 15 year olds well ahead of 18 year olds but you gotta take the mean.

This is following him from now on no matter what at this point. As long as he can avoid charges he will be able to put it behind him eventually. Marrying someone closer to his age would help. He gets charged with anything he will have lots of problems though.
