I guess they are consistant on the rule, but F, that screwed us. Leads to a FG instead of the TD, putting us down by 7 instead of 3. We would have been in FG range easy on that last drive to tie the game if not for that non-catch.

Unbelievable how one single play really made that much of a difference in the outcome of the game.

It's a stupid rule, but it is a rule. I guess karma caught up with us a bit today. We benefited twice from the stupid tuck rule this season and now this one bites us in the ass.

Regardless, the D made the stop on the next drive and we were within 7 yards with a full set of downs to win it and didn't get it done. We just need to learn how to win.

Dropped pass by Gresham. He has great hands, he never should have bobbled it. Simple route, easy pass.

We need to go at least 4-2 down the stretch to be relatively sure of a playoff spot....that means we must win at least one of Houston, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore without any negative surprises along the way.....not going to be easy...but then again, if we can't do that we don't need to be in the playoffs, anyway....

Yes it is. Tough loss today but damn you guys have a lot to look forward to.
Dalton did an excellent job of coming back from adversity.
It'll be another great finish in Cincy later this season, IMO.

It was the correct call...the thing that I'm most pissed off about is the play of the O-line on the final drive. they gave Dalton no chance and just got abused by a 3 man pass rush...Inexcusable and really came up short when we needed them the most. Agree with Rey that Gresham shouldnt of made that play interesting. Typically he catches that clean. I will say that I loved Dalton's confidence leading the team back. he deserved a legit shot to tie that game up but the O-line let him down.

Yup. Good thing for the Jets collapse on Thursday. They bought us a loss. Currently, we have the tiebreaker against them. However, they win the tie-breaker if they have 1 more loss than us against an NFC team the rest of the way.

it sucks... he needs to get two hands on the ball...

so many mistakes today, 15 yard punt, ill prepared trick plays, unable to cover a fumble because of the ref ... so frustrating on many accounts.

I'm thinking 9-7 will be good enough for a playoff spot in the AFC this yr...

Yes we made just too many mistakes to overcome....still, I love the way Dalton brought 'em back, even if he fell just a little short.....no excuses, the Browns are up next....Flacco was better today than he has been against us for a long time....we need to shore up our corner play a bit.....

This team struggles on the back-end with safeties and struggles to block the run. If we can correct these issues, we'll be fine. I just worry that talent to fix these problems isn't currently on the roster.

Maybe, but I really don't want to have to find out.....

I look at the AFC and other than the Steeler or Ravens (the one who doesn't win the division) I'm not seeing another 10-6 wildcard team from... maybe the Bengals, but that's it

I'd like to see them give a look at Boling at LG (I never thought they shoulda played him at RG where he did look really bad) and think it's time to see what Mays can do at SS.

As far as 9-7 goes...I think next week is a must win with the brownies at home. We gotta play the Steelers and the Ravens again which will obviously be tough (but winnable) games. We should beat the Browns, Rams, Cardinals and Texans. I think we get to 10 wins.

The Jets don't look to be very good, but they're definitely capable.

The Jets look horrible, but their schedule is favorable and they have shown the ability to win late in the year and make the playoffs under Rex/Sanchez.... We just need to take care of business and we'll be fine. Win the games we should win and we'll be fine.

I think the Jets will correct their issues...Sanchez had played horribly. Not saying he's a good QB but he's better than he's played over the past few games.

+1 on the must-win next week.

This is the first time all season we'll be in must-win situations. All those games - Browns, Rams, Cards, and Texans - are games we should win and probably games we HAVE to win. At the very least 3 of 4. The exception is if we beat Pittsburgh in 2 weeks.

they'd have to go 5-1 down the stretch with a slumping QB, a subpar running game, and a defense that's been statistically average this yr.. they do have a favorable schedule for it I suppose.. my guess is that they'll go 9-7

Its a horrible rule, isnt the rule for a TD to break the plain of the goal line? if it is Gresham did it.
