I'm dying for Mike Shannahan to come out and comment on the situation.. even better if he writes a tell all book. My guess is the RG3 pick was heavily influenced by Snyder

Yea... I doubt you see that happen for another ten years or so. Coaches likely sign confidentiality clauses. You might hear rumors and such. But mike aint stupid.

I know he is a failed ex-coach and everything he says could be considered sour grapes. But his comment last month about if he worked again it would have to be with the right owner was telling. I mean it's no coincidence that everything and everyone fails here and the one constant is Daniel Snyder. If that doesn't scare the shit out of you I don't know what will.

That "idiot" Kyle Shannahan is getting it done with absolutely no talent what so ever in Cleveland. I knew those critical of him were wrong, the guy is a good coordinator. Do not let what happened here influence your opinion. EVERYONE fails here under Little Napoleon.

I have no issue with Kyle Shanahan & believe he has a bright future in the NFL. The problem - again - with someone like Mike Shanahan is that he is one of these ex-SB winning coaches who demanded a considerable amt of power before taking the Redskins job. That type of setup IMO doesn't work anywhere.

These type of coaches generally were previously part of a good setup where they had a more limited amt of power. They then move on to another situation when they are older and start performing too many tasks that often are beyond their expertise. We have seen this fail with Shanahan, Jimmy Johnson, Holmgren, Gibbs (to an extent), etc. IMO it is just a bad practice and no team should hire guys like this unless they agree to strictly be coaches (which rarely happens). Better to go the traditional route by having a true GM who subsequently hires the coach.

I am in no way stating that Snyder is not part of the problem, but it goes well beyond that & again kudos to Mike Shanahan for being the one who removed Snyder from the personnel decisions for the Skins for the most part.

Kyle was mercilessly trashed in DC, a ton of folks were claiming he only got the job because he was his dad's son. It's amazing how common sense flies right out the window when you team loses, fans want to blame anyone and everyone. He got huge production out of an offense led by a very pedestrian QB Matt Schaub. He knew RGIII wasn't a pocket passer so he devised an offense tailored to his skills as he devleoped as a drop back passer That offense was then copied by a ton of teams, including the really good ones.

But when you lose suddenly he's an idiot.

You can include RG3 and his camp in that crowd that trashed Kyle.
