Are you sticking up for the retard in your group?
Holy shit fan. You are a moron.

Take it easy there big fella. As other posters have tried to explain to you people don't always agree, that's kind of what this whole message board thingy is all about and no reason for you to get all worked up. We're on the same side here, I was a big Shanny guy.

You realize you're talking to a German Shepherd, right? :pound:

My favorite dog. I could walk my baby off the leash and the cops would not say anything. They loved her.
Called her by her name. Always waited for me on the corner.

I can't argue any of this. And I was the last, or so I thought, Shanny supporter. Sure he made pretty good picks but let's not pretend he left the '91 Redskins behind. Last time I checked all this talent will probably finish around .500.

One pt of clarification - no team can measure up to a team like the 91 Redskins because of the current guidelines in the NFL. There was no salary cap at that time & it was much easier to stockpile talent. You certainly could not have a cap penalty like the Redskins did over the last several years at that time!

Trust me - I am no supported of Shanahan & was glad to see him go. However - to state that he pretty much did nothing is ridiculous. Again - the major thing that he accomplished was keeping Snyder out of the mix - the first time this happened since Snyder bought that team. That in itself is huge. He also made some very good picks that are contributing to this team in a major way.

Again - the mistake was having someone like him be both coach and de facto GM - that doesn't work in today's NFL.

Tori, the 6 year old one on the right, is absolutely brilliant. Bruce, the 1.5 year old on the left, is a complete moron! Together they are like Abbot and Costello!

Ever entered Tori into an event? Did you train yourself? I always grew up with bird dogs mostly. A German shorthair pointer, Lab, Doberman and Vizsla. But my Pops was amazing at training. Those dogs (excepting the Lab who got no training and was a lovable trouble maker as a result) were amazing to watch. Even with silent commands.

Mine in the picture is named Jack & is 9 yrs old but looks the same as he did years ago (but tires much quicker).

BTW - I see you are in Irvine. Have you made the trip up to Joxers in Culver City? If not - do it as soon as you can. Best Redskins bar on the planet. I went there quite a bit when I lived in SoCal.

Speaking of which. Hey Dave! The knotties saw the big pic and it was a wrap. They don't want a long hair shepherd. They want your long hair shepherd. Since that's not gonna happen though we'll settle for one of our own. Already put the word out to a few people that can hook us up in that area.

An okie doke has already been put in motion though. They wanna go down to the shelter tomorrow just to "look" and see if there's a long hair shep down there by chance. They wanna get two more dogs is the real deal. They know walking out of a shelter without a dog is damn near impossible to do. Its one thing to resist a Sarah Mclachlan commercial, its a whole nother thing altogethher to resist a dog staring at you in person with those "Please take me home with you" eyes. We'll see what happens on going to the shelter, but the getting a long hair shepherd has been green lighted.

Thanks.............

That's great news Breed but do not expect to find a long haired shepherd at the pound. But please get a dog from the pound if you are getting 2 dogs. We've got 2, the big shepherd and the white dog is a rescue. But that's 160 pounds of dog and it's a lot unless you've got the room.

Wait, which Dave was Breed talking to?

Me dumb ass.

He wrote me a PM as his kids saw the pic of my dog in my avatar. They saw yours and the were strong contenders but decided that my dog ruled. We did the PM thing yesterday.

Trained her myself, but training her was easy, she picked up every trick in the book in just a few reps. I took her to a sheep farm in Escondido once, but she had no interest in chasing or herding sheep, only in playing with all the Border Collies already there. She has no herding drive and she's medium energy, so she's a perfect pet, she doesn't need to work to be happy. Bruce on the other hand, chases anything that moves, Geese, Rabbits, leaves blowing in the wind. It took a month to get Bruce to shake hands (gimme a paw), whereas it took Tori literally 1 minute. I got Tori an agility set and she did OK, but I didn't really know how to train her for agility so we both got bored. I tried Bruce on the agility set. He rolled over on his back and tried to eat the hoop :)

Heh, two things. One, the secret white font doesn't show up, and two, he replied to me, and my name is Dave, so it was a reasonable question. Don't call me a dumb ass, you know it hurts my feelings :bawling:

Great stuff. A friend does some breeding for cattle dogs - Primarily border collies ...they show the herding instinct very early...like at 6-7weeks. Truly amazing how early you can pick the 'goers' in the litter. Out here they tend to train cattle dogs using ducks and or goats in the beginning... Hilarious!
