i know he has health issues and his last few years @ Ohio State were rocky at best, but is he still interested in coaching?

I think he interviewed at Ole Miss this past offseason, and maybe UGA? I thought he was a candidate for a couple of openings at least this past offseason.
wouldn't mind him @ Wake
could be Howland 2.0, where he just needed a fresh start at a new place
I think that would be a good hire. As old as he looks(and probably feels) he's only 51. If he's like other coaches these days, he's got a good 10-15 years left, if he wants too.
i peeked at his wiki page earlier and was stunned that he's only 51
i would have assumed he was closer to 61 than 51
He got that OSU job at a really early age. It also hurts he looked like he was 50 when he was 35. lol.
i also remember his Butler team taking it to a Wake team that had Josh Howard, Darius Songaila and Robert O'Kelly on it in the Round of 64 like 17-18 years ago. That was Dave Odom's final game @ Wake

This is just a question for you since you know much more about the Deacs than I do. Wouldn't it make more sense to go after an up and coming young head coach with a proven track record in coaching and recruiting from a smaller school as the Deacs next head coach?
Very few people in NC had ever heard of Coach K or Jimmy V until they arrived on the scene at Duke and NC State and they turned out to be pretty good hires.
Matta, Oats from Buffalo and Grants from CofC should be the top three candidates for Wake if DM is fired
I like both Oats and Grants but I'm not sure about Matta because of his various health issues I keep reading about.
health is a definite question mark on Matta, but I would be willing to take that chance
