My Grandfather who passed away last week had a bowl of Blue Bell every night before bed. He was 92, almost 93. He flew planes in the war.

Sorry for his passing. But sounds like he knew how to live, savor and enjoy life. Good for him.

Bought my wife a pint of ice cream last night cause she can't leave it alone or 5 minutes. (She weighs all of about 115 lbs and is plenty tall enough to carry it well) She gets mad at me cause she has no self control, though and will eat the whole thing in one sitting. Point is Im cheap and bought the ben and jerrys vs the Blue Bell because damn that stuff is expensive. Cant eat ice cream myself, does terrible things to my gut

I noticed how well she carried herself just the other night. Com'on now, keep your sense of humor....I'm messing with ya.

But seriously, Ben & Jerry's - at least where I shop - is considerably more expensive than Blue.

But seriously, Ben & Jerry's - at least where I shop - is considerably more expensive than Blue.

I guess to put it in better perspective the Blue Bell was $7.19 for a half gallon and the pint of Ben and Jerrys was $4 at Walgreens so my cheap ass got her the pint. Boy would I have been in the doghouse if I had brought home a half gallon.

Sometimes I can find the blue bell pints 2 for 3 at Kroger here in the Houston area. Pretty awesome when that happens. Dairy does bad things to me as well, but I love it too much to give it up completely.

I can eat cheese all day long but when I treat myself to the occasional ice cream treat I have to make sure I take a lactaid, and milk is off the menu completely.

I better steer it back to baseball or someone might want us to move the convo to another thread

Yeh, Leonys Martin was a great pickup...

Ok,ok, that was too harsh (a little down on him lately) - he's not a bad pickup, just don't think he's going to be the star that Cespedes, Puig, and Abreu are or will be...

But I do agree, and hope that we are, trolling the Cuban market in a big way...lots of talent there that's been off limits for years. Hell, we used to be the team with the Caribbean connection. We need to get that back...

BTW, hilarious conversation last night about the ice cream...cracked me up ( because I can relate to it...I love ice cream!!! And miss Blue Bell. We can get it here, but limited favors, and it's expensive).

I wondered yesterday about how often the challenge play is overturned. In today's DMN, it says, "The Rangers have gotten 16 of 25 go their way (64%). It ties them for 8th in MLB, and 4th in the AL."

There's also an entire article about the frustrations Leonys Martin is causing with his plate appearances. And just as an FYI, those 2 bunt attempts were his idea and didn't come from the bench.
