Even if the Angels went 10-2 over their last 12 games, the orioles and A's would have to go 6-7 to be caught. Very unlikely scenario

Not just that, but to do it in a true ace's duel where every pitch could be the one that is your undoing. This is as close to a playoff atmosphere as it gets. Darvish is our ace. Plain and simple. He needs to be going in game 1.
Don't be so sure. Oakland just lost another starting pitcher and we face them 7 more times this season. Texas could very easily hand them 4-5 losses alone. LA is not out of this by any means.
Have to admit I want no part of the Angels. Hoping the Whitesox can deal them a loss ot two over the weekend
Based on how they're pitching down the stretch (as of now), strong case could be made for a playoff rotation that goes Darvish, Holland, Harrison and Dempster... still plenty of time for one of them to fall off or gain momentum, but Darvish and Holland have easily been the best in their last 6-8 starts, Harrison hasn't been terrible but just not dominant like the other 2, and Dempster is Demster, a serviceable guy which is what we expected

I agree with your rotation sequence. Throughout the post season the #2 and #3 guys are never going to pitch in back to back days in the same ballpark ... so the ALDS setup you suggest works for me. So splitting the lefties doesn't seem to warrant it being considered a big issue.
Game 1 (Sun, 7 Oct): @ WC Darvish (7 days after his last start vs LAA)
Game 2 (Mon, 8 Oct): @ WC Holland (9 days after his last start vs LAA)
Game 3 (Wed, 10 Oct): @ RBIA Harrison (8 days after his last start vs OAK)
Game 4 (Thu, 11 Oct): @ RBIA Dempster (8 days after his last start vs OAK)
Game 5 (Fri, 12 Oct): @ RBIA Darvish (5 days)
TEX could use Harrison in Game 1 on normal 5 day rotation ... but that means Darvish and Holland going too long in my opinion between their last regular season starts versus LAA and the ALDS. Your rotation flips Darvish and Holland which I think makes sense given Darvish most recent success.
