News broke that University of Texas is going to go after Harbaugh and Tomlin hard. I Cant see neither coach leaving to go to the college game. Both are good NFL coaches and Harbaugh still has to win a superbowl. Tomlin might go so he can try and win a NC and be one of few to win a superbowl and NC.

I would be shocked if Harbaugh left us for texas.

I wouldn't be shocked by either going to Texas. That place is one of the easiest recruiting teams in the country so they would have 4 and 5 star players coming like crazy. There is a lot less pressure in my opinion to be a college coach compared to an NFL coach. One bad season doesn't usually get you fired especially when you are a big name coach.

He's a pretty good NFL coach.

He's got just as many rings as your HC AND he usually beats you in the post season.

Did you really just take what I said as some sort of insult toward Tomlin???

I keep throwing David Shaw's name around...I think he's going to get a big time job...NYG, WAS, among others will be calling him.

If he wants to stay in college, TX needs to call this guy and find out...Harbaugh...I wouldn't put it past him, but he's got a SB caliber team, I doubt it...Tomlin...I think the Rooneys are going to give him (u/c thru '16 I believe) the chance to right the ship, and I think he'll take on the task.

Take this for what it's worth.

Stefan Stevenson, a beat writer for the Fort Worth Star Telegram is tweeting that Nick Saban will be the new UT HC. Stay tuned.

I believe it.

That's been out there for a while actually and from good sources...my boss came back from the A&M vs LSU I think and even then from a lot of connected alumni he knows from A&M, the word was Brown was out, and Saban was in.

Nick Saban has had a contract extension sitting on his desk since Friday that he has not signed.

Yes.

The inferece is that he'd make a great college coach because, in your opinion, he's not a great NFL coach.

If I was wrong to infer that, I apologize.

I've stated on here before that I was a Tomlin fan (and still am even after the little sideline stunt). I feel like all NFL coaches have a window of time before their message starts to get old (even the great ones) and they need a change of scenery. I think Tomlin is a very good NFL coach, but would be a fantastic college coach.

That window tends to close at about 15 years or so. He's got about 8 more years or so.

I like the guy...he's no nonsense, makes no excuses and he loves the matchups between our clubs.

I am not a very big Tomlin fan. How great would it be if Tomlin left for Texas and the Steelers talked Cowher into coming back? Too bad that will likely never happen and the Steelers will suck for a lot longer than usual.

I'm fine with Tomlin, I was a big Cowher fan, no intention to dig up another Tomlin vs Cowher debate, but I think that ship has sailed...Cowher was not this outstanding coach that would be great in any era imo...in this no hard-hitting era the intimidation factor on DEF wouldn't be the same and OFC was never his thing.
