I think it's safe to say they would have traded Clowney and a first for Tunsil.

Texans don't have a GM … O'Brien is not the GM but he is a big part of buying the groceries as Parcells used to say.

If Bruce Allen is still expecting that TW will be playing for the Redskins again, he is delusional. This is going to be another Cousins situation where we watch a player of huge value leave the team with little to show in return.

Texans finalizing deal for Tunsil, source says

They might have a front office even worse than the redskins do.

Two firsts, a second, AND MORE for Tunsil?!??

Meanwhile BA is still delusional.

No chance the Texans front office is worse.

The simple fact that the Redskins failed to capitalize on this opportunity with a player who has vowed to never wear a Redskin uniform again is proof enough of that.

How does he still have a job?

Why are Washington owners so loyal to clearly horrible GMs?

They made the trade without even talking extension with Tunsil. They just gave Tunsil a blank check. When Mack got traded to the Bears he was signed long term. To give up that draft capital and not have the guy signed long term is probably the worst mistake in GM NFL history.

We wouldn't have gotten that deal for TW. Plus the Texans wanted Tunsil over Williams.

Because the Washington owner (Danny boy) can control these horrible GMs. They are the front men for danny's continued meddling. They are nothing more than glorified yes men.

The WORST run franchise in professional sports, period!

No, would not have gotten that deal. But I don’t think Houston pushes so hard for Tunsil if Williams were available.

And that is some major hyperbole saying this is the worst GM mistake ever. It was a big mistake. But Bruce Allen’s botching of the Cousins situation is worse.

Houston is all in this year and they look like one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the AFC. Wake me up when the Redskins are in position to seriously contend.

I can’t argue with that.

Especially now that the Browns are trending up.

Would have to say the New York Knicks are at least as bad though.

To give up that kind of draft capital and not have that player signed long term is one oft he worst mistakes in NFL GM history. We didn't lose draft capital when we lost KC. Actually we gained a 3rd round pick. I not going into that saga again. Plus the Jags could win that division this year.

Yeah, you are exaggerating though.

Definitely a mistake.

Not close to the worst in GM history.

Plus Tunstil is not even close to the player Mack is. Im comparing the Bears trade. The they let Clowney go for nothing. When they could of gotten a 3rd comp pick next year when he leaves in FA. Sorry pal this is the worst. To give up that capital for an average to good LT and lose your best defensive player for nothing.
