Rams evaluating bringing in Pryor. His salary, approx. 700,000 left on the last year of his rookie deal, would fit under our slim cap space. Starting experience and mobility. An added benefit is his knowledge of the Seahawk playbook!

Also, it might be worth noting that Tahj Boyd was cut by the Jets today.

Personally, I don't care for either. But, I suppose that if we were to look at one of them, I'd take a flyer on Boyd, rather than Pryor.

Fisher worked with a mobile QB before, so he knows what to look for.

I was disappointed that the Seahawks released Pryor.

I saw that caynine. Daryl Richardson was also released. Perhaps the Rams know something that we the fans don't.

...and Stephen Hill as well. Another Brian Quick alternative falls to the wayside while Quick appears ready to emerge. Obviously well in the shadow of Alshon Jeffery, but one rung at a time...lol.

Pryor will help the Rams if they get him.

I had hoped the Seahawks would have kept him as the #3.

Good luck Rams.

Might as well take a flier on Tebow. Boyd is a project

What does Pryor bring to the table that Davis can't?

I see no point in bringing him in.

Boyd is yet another piece of evidence you can't take college numbers and argue NFL value with them.

Yep Mutigers. By and large, the draft is a crap shoot. All you can do is get as much information as possible watch a player with acquired talent-judging skills, and hope that everyone and the data are correct. Boyd is another example, Pead, Tye Hill, Jason Smith, Tony Banks, etc., etc.

I don't think TP is the answer for the Rams. Though he had moments of brilliance for the Raiders, for the most part, he played like a rookie and made rookie mistakes.

Boyd was one of the most accurate QBs in college for his career and threw the least INTs of any QB in the red zone during last 4 years of college football.

College is different than the NFL, but give him a clip board and let him learn. He's raw and the Jets really aren't a good place for QB development.

Taj has good physical tools, but my guess is that he's struggling mentally to grasp play books and adjust to speed of the game.

Any rookie QBs starting this year?

As far as Pryor, he's going to come in and not be head and shoulders above anyone. I like the fact of letting Davis/Hill compete and bring in a
Rookie like Boyd to hold the clipboard.

College Completion Percentages:
Tim Tebow: 66.4%
Tajh Boyd 64.3%

If you're looking for accuracy though in a college QB Johnny Manziel's was 68.9%.

Another interesting note, 57.4% of completions from Boyd to Watkins last year were screen passes, so that 58 of 101 completions between the 2 that were basically gimme completions. Just 30 of the completions they combined for were beyond 5 yards down field. Not sure thats the skill set you're looking for.

I knew somebody would go stat geek on me. Also look at INT's to TDs thrown.
Also look at number of attempts. Hell I could go two for three and have a decent percentage.
There's always more to accuracy than just a % don't you think?

A perfect example would be Sam Bradford. We all know one of his best assets is that he's pretty accurate. But his completion percentage wasn't too hot over his career.

College TD:INT Ratio
Tebow: 5.5
Boyd: 2.74
Manziel: 2.86

Attempts is a very real argument against Tebow because they didn't throw a lot. Johnny threw 33.2 passes per game at A&M, Boyd threw 35.0 (excluding as a freshman when it was spot duty) so attempts on those 2 are very comparable.

I think we can agree that this was largely due to lack of WR threats, the Rams have had many drops the last 4 years. Watkins had Hopkins, Watkins and Bryant. Johnny had Evans and Swope. Both had big time threats so I don't think we can blame WRs.

Hey I finally watched the Rams @ Fins and they put up a stat in that game that kind of illustrates this point....

They asked for fans to tweet the names of the four players who were still on the roster the same year that Long was drafted No, 1 overall in 2008 I believe.

The names, to my point do not matter. What mattered was when they showed those four names they put up their draft position of each. Three of the four were Undrafted Rookie Free Agents and the fourth was a 7th rounder...

Go figure....

I like Tebow. Jury is still out on all 3.

Question: if Michael Sam doesn't get picked up by a team, is it a similar situation to Tebow? Sam is good enough to play in the NFL, but no team wants the media circus?

Tebow is better than Orton. That season in Denver proves it with the same personnel. Orton just landed a job.

I'm not saying why Sam Bradford didn't have a good completion percentage. My point is that a completion percentage alone doesn't justify a quarterbacks accuracy.
