44 receptions
736 yards
5 Tds

Pretty damn good for a rookie that had to play second fiddle to Austin twice.
Season start ... Then when Austin came back.

Don't think anyone can complain about that performance from a rookie receiver

:suds:

and just to compare him to Dez's rookie year

45 receptions
561 yards
6 TDs

and yes Dez missed a couple games. But to counter that he also had more targets as a rookie

I just wonder if Beasley will be the number 3 WR next year or they go out and sign another WR. I think we lose Miles, but one thing about it Miles freed up Dez more.

Nobody was in Austin's corner more than me over the years and I can't say that. Austin is a shell of himself, little to no separation now. Classic it all pays the same attitude. Kick his ass to the curb.

we'll need another....maybe they actual give Harris an opportunity for an expanded role. All he does is make the most outta any opportunity. I think Beasley has an expanded role but he seems more the specialty third down guy in short yardage than a play in play out #3

I'm not for cutting or keep Austin anymore .... cost the same
I have said I want him to have a reduced role though

I think Willaims locked down the #2 job.
agree with you on Beasley
agree on Harris

I like our WR's, even without Austin. I think a RB with speed that could catch the ball out of the backfield would add a lot to this team

We have that in Dunbar if he can get over the fumble issues and stay healthy.

I like what he brings to our team when on the field though

He might. He needs to have a healthy year, thats for sure. It will be interesting for me to see how healthy Murray stays the next couple of seasons. My guess, is that with his contract coming up after next season, he might suddenly be tougher to keep off the field

That would surely hold true to a recent Cowboys tradition

Part 2 of that would be get a big contract and read comic books on the sidelines LOL

That's for damn sure. But I doubt I would resign Murray either way. Better to just draft a kid than resign an RB with an injury history to a deal into his 30's. Besides, we don't utilize him anyway. I would love to see the team commit to the running game, just one year, run the ball 47-48% of the time. If we didn't make the playoffs, I'd change my screen name to Dumbass and keep my mouth shut

I like Murray .... I think we are a different team with him on the field.

If he plays through next year and has another good year I'm for bringing him back. But not at a big contract.
Repeat this years performance ...and add a bit ( I hate players regressing) add a TD or 2-3 and 100 yards... I'd offer 3-3.5 a year I think that is what his worth is on the open market

It's kind of a slippery slope for Dallas on Murray. With his injuries, they need to see him stay healthy and produce, but if he does have a couple of say, 1200-1300 yard seasons, it's only gonna drive the cost to keep him up

true but like I said

Who actually pays for a running back not named Peterson nowdays?

Not like a decade ago ... when running backs were high dollar free agents

Miles will be a post 6/1 cut which does save us cap dollars. He was absolutely horrible after week 1.
Dez and Williams starting with Beasley in the slot on 3rd down looks pretty good to me and is as cap friendly as we can get knowing Dez will get expensive in either 2014 or 2015. Harris either as our #4 or beat out by a cheap guy and staying as our special teams guy works for me because I think he could be a pretty good #4. So if someone comes along that is even better its good news for us.

You are correct, there is no chance Austin is here after June

Love Dunbar's explosiveness as a complement to Murray. Sample size is too small for me to worry about the fumbles or injuries. A lot of good, young, talent at the skill positions on this team.

Totally agree on Murray and glad to see all Cowboy fans now see his value and not just a few of us. Was tiresome trying to defend a guy that shouldn't have needed defending for most of the year...too bad Garrett, Callahan and Romo didn't see his value or we may have a game tonight...
