What has he been up too? I feel like he hasn't been given a chance. With only 4 season in the NHL as a coach; I feel like he has done great. He took a crappy Sabres team to the playoffs that later went on to the Stanley Cup with the all mighty "LINDY RUFF"(Don't get me started with his average coaching career). Then he takes a crappy Islanders team to the playoffs that probably should have beaten the president trophy winning Sabres.

I feel like if he was given more of a chance he probably could have won a Stanley Cup or two.

I think he has burned bridges and people doubt his coaching abilities. If teams thought he could win he'd probably get hired whether he is an as or not.

There is so much shit going around about Ted Nolan that I don't know what to believe. I've read that he has gone over GM's head and created other problems at the upper level.

I know one thing, If he was that good he would have (or be able to keep) a job in this league.

Also one could make the argument that Hasek took the Sabres to the finals in 1999.

Muckler and him did not get along in Buffalo. Muckler was old-time hockey guy. I have a feeling he spread his word against Nolan. Hockey is a close-knit, old boys network to a certain degree.

I'd like to see him get another chance in the show.

For the record Muckler IS kind of a dick and he can die a gruesome death while being penetrated by horse cocks for the whole Hossa/Redden/Chara thing.

Yup. But if other GM's thought he was really that good he still would have gotten a chance somewhere, which leads me to believe the going over the GM's head thing is true. If others know about that its probably the 1 thing they wont take a chance on.

I think the Good Ol' Boy Network of the NHL ended any chance for Ted getting another head coaching job. He made the mistake of messing with Muckler. Muckler's buddy Sather has been in the business for a very very long time & has a lot of pull.

One of the few good things Milbury did when he was with the Isles is give guys like Nolan, Laviolette & Gordon a chance. We've seen how good of a coach Lavy is. Gordon is now with the Maple Leafs.
