In Indy's case, I would say the sudden retirement of Andrew Luck set them back considerably. Brissett, Rivers, Wentz. Add the best of what all 3 have to offer and it still isn't as good as a healthy Luck. Of course, healthy being the key word. Sadly, they addressed the Oline when the horse had already left the barn, so to speak.
Good point, I forgot about that. They are pretty much built around a once in a decade QB prospect who couldnt stay healthy and gave up

AFC:

Raiders- inconsistent QB play, interim coach is a ST's coach with no real HC background. Overrated running game.

Broncos: QB play, straight up. Run D is also suspect.

Steelers: See prior posts

Browns: Baker is beat to hell and the WR's stink

Jets- All around awful roster

Dolphins- QB play is suspect and the OL is awful. WR's aren't gamechangers to this point.

Texans: All around awful, best QB is made of glass

Jags- One of the most rancid rosters and coaching staffs outside of the QB of the last 20 years. Bless your heart if you thought this team was going to be competitive.

NFC:

Falcons- Lack of talent outside of offensive skill positions

Saints- Siemian, that's pretty much it and that's unfortunately what counts

Football Team- No real QB, underachieving defense

Seahawks- Trying to play 90's football with an offense designed to score 2020's football, the hole is simply too deep this go around. Wilson seems to play like he is 10 years younger than he actually is.

Lions- OL might be something to build off of and Hockenson, everything else leaves a lot to be desired... unless you count the punter.

Bears- Fields is too green, and a lot of the prior useful pieces are old and not nearly as good; won't be able to grift a 7 seed this time

Giants- Offense, and namely Jones- just isn't consistent enough to really put them on the radar even in a meh wild card chase in the NFC.

If the Lions would have had any brains in the F.O., they would have told the Rams to keep Goff and just send them anything else. A 5th round no name rookie would be a better QB choice.

This looks right. Browns seem to maybe have a sneaky outside of making the playoffs, though, if only because Baker is so streaky and I do think there is talent on that team. They'd probably have to knock out the Ravens, though.

Broncos would probably have to knock out the Chiefs and I think thats significantly less likely yet still in play.

Rams had to juice that package somehow to convince them to take Goff. Stafford by himself probably isn't worth the picks on the trade market. Lions are so bad the cap doesn't really matter to them.

Yeah, have to agree there. One has to wonder where the sorry Lions franchise goes from here though. Maybe after 2022, they can cut their losses and eat the dead money.

As for all those teams looking to get into the play-offs, there seems to be a whole lot of inconsistent play. The Titans appear to manhandle every contending team but lose to the Jets and now Houston. Go figure. I have no idea what Bills team will show up week to week. The Ravens, Chargers, Browns, all up and down, it seems. The Ravens have squeaked out so many wins with golden horseshoes up their ass and a timely missed penalty.

A big thing Im noticing is turnover margin. Generally thats an indicator of who is good and who is bad. This year, you have the Chiefs at -7, the Ravens at -5, the Titans at -3, and the Bengals at -3. In a normal year, that should knock out most or all of those teams. You also have the Colts at +15 and they are only 6-5.

You get the feeling that any AFC team could implode like the Chiefs did in the Super Bowl last year because they all have messy games. And in the Colts case they are punching above their weight.

Seeing all of those turnovers also makes me think that this year will come down to which defenses start taking over. I dont think there is a single team starting a good, healthy offensive line and a reliable QB. Well, maybe only a couple.

Steelers shouldn’t be in the playoffs… If they somehow make it then the rest of the AFC should be ashamed of themselves

Been saying that for 2 1/2 years now. Dude is a turnover machine and holds the ball way too long. He’s garbage. If Gettleman gets canned (which he should), Jones is the first one going with him

He makes awful reads...doesn't seem to give any confidence to the players around him...and doesn't show any fire or passion... he will probably stay in the league for another 5+ years, but as a backup...if you think he's your guy, congrats on the 3 to 7 win year
