I'd say all the Denver Broncos have to do is win one more Super Bowl this decade with a different QB - obviously - and they will be the Team of the Decade. A honorary title they should have achieved in the 90s as well.

90 would be hard to deny the Cowboys that title, and up to 2010 the pats.

I'd say Demarcus Ware has a shot, though he'd probably go in as a Cowboy. And Von would have to completely implode based on how well he's played early in his career. That SB MVP is gonna look real good on that HOF resume as long as he keeps racking up sacks year in and year out.

Then, of course, there's Paxton Lynch. Looks like a HOFer to me.

One thing about it, even in the last of Shanahan's tenure and through the Josh McD fiasco the Broncos have not posted back to back losing seasons. In fact, of the top of my head I think you have to go back to the 1970s to find the last time the Broncos had losing seasons in consecutive years. So even in lean times the team never goes full "Cleveland Browns" on us. That's remarkable.

It's hard to win a Super Bowl, and if that's the standard every single year you are bound to be disappointed. There are other metrics that are valid for measuring how good a team is year to year. Avoidance of utter futility for long stretches is certainly one of them.

Ware will go in as Ware, should he be inducted. Same with Von Miller. The NFL HOF doesn't recognize team affiliations.

I think I read 43 years is how far you have to go back

Hmm, thanks. Didn't know that. Guess I was thinking of baseball.

While this is true most players are still recognized more for what they did for one team over that of another. Guys like Ware and Manning while they have played great as a Bronco will always be known more by that of the Cowboys and Colts. Us Bronco fans will recognize them as our own but others outside of Denver probably will not.

As of right now New England definitely has that claim for the 2nd decade in a row. I'm hoping we can take that away from them and yes it would take a 2nd Super Bowl Trophy to do so.

Which is actually a bit ironic. In Manning's case his best 3-year production came as a Bronco. His post-season success as a Bronco was better than his time as a Colt. He had a 1-1 record in the Super Bowl with both teams. Manning was not just a rental. He was by no means a hired gun. He was a full fledged Bronco. 4 years isn't 14, so many will remember him for his time with the Colts first, but his time with the Broncos is a very significant part of his career and NFL history.

In Ware's case, he did with the Broncos what he never even came close to sniffing with the Cowboys. When people look back on his career they are going to remember him playing for the Cowboys but they'll remember him winning the Super Bowl with the Broncos.

Oh I agree with all of that. It is why I do think Manning should still make the Broncos Ring of Fame even though he was only here for 4-years. He has meant a lot to this franchise in such a small time frame. I mean honestly it feels like he has been here forever. So I will always remember him as a Bronco and yes I do agree he had far more success with the Broncos than he did with the Colts even in a shorter amount of time.

As for Ware maybe because he has only been here for 2-years he still feels a bit like a rental to me. Maybe another year of him on the field will change some of that. I do appreciate more and more just what he has meant to this franchise. Not only his work on the field but his work with the younger guys (even the practice squad players) and that of work with the coaches to make them better. I am hoping so much that after this next year when he maybe thinks about retiring that the Broncos approach him about coming back as a Linebackers coach or something of that matter. The guy just has too much knowledge of the game to not try and take advantage of that.

Good points on Ware @cdumler7 - Ware should be worked into the coaching staff or even the Front Office.

I get your point on Manning too - but I think the Ring of Fame is short on Lineman for now.

If Ware is an integral part of the Bronco repeating then I think it would go a long way toward dispelling that "rental" feel.
