I might agree, however refs nearly never call a foul towards the end of a game unless it's more then obvious. This wasn't more then obvious. Also had you watched this game you'd know WVU's Devin Williams got fouled on his turnaround as time expired in regulation and there was no call. If a foul is a foul then call it but Jesus Christ keep it consistent. I don't think there should be two sets of rules, but more times then not there are.
I dont disagree at all with this. I'm just pointing out for all the people who say "Let the players play" if the player commits a foul, then THEY DID let them play...the player committed a foul. It's not the refs fault for doing his job in calling the foul...it's the players fault for committing the foul.
What they are really saying when they say "Let the players play" is "I don't want the Refs to do their job if it might cost my team the game on a close call, in a close game". That is what they really mean.
As for the foul in OT...I thought it was more than obvious. He got hit in the elbow causing to to miss a point blank layup. Not that guys don't miss that shot, but it was pretty clear in real time to me he got hit on the arm.
As for the foul in regulation...I agree there, and as you said, really all fans want is consistency from any umpire/ref.
