I think it's a good fit. But, I thought they did not want a team from Texas?

They probably didn't. But they don't have any other options. They can't get BYU until this Mizzou situation is solved.

They also formally ratified Tier 1 and 2 rights for 6 years to the conference.

Good move for TCU

Competition wise for Football and Baseball it's a good move for the Big 12

only problem is that the Big 12 is filled with Texas teams.

so they didn't expand their market any.

Exactly. I think they want BYU......but BYU isn't going to agree to terms if schools are still leaving the conference. So right now they're stuck. I've heard rumors that Louisville and WVU are also in the mix - ugh

They don't have any more Texas teams than they've always had in the conference

I thought they'd get someone from another big TV market. but like you said, they don't have unlimited options and TCU is a great program to add

The only "big" get they have a shot at is BYU. But BYU is rumored to be waiting to see what happens with Mizzou. There's also Louisville. I'm not real excited about any of these options.

On the ticker of ESPN, it says that TCU has accepted the invitation to the Big 12.

OU will now play 2 games in Dallas every other year.

That makes me happy but thats about it.

If we get BYU then might as well invite fucking SMU and call us the Religious conference.

TCU, Baylor, SMU, BYU. le gay

Big 12 still has the same amount of Texas teams as before with only 4. BYU is the key here. I've heard the Big 12 is considering Tulane, which would be huge with the NOLA market and a strong academic reputation. Gotta replace a bottom feeder like MIZZOU with another bottom feeder, however, this bottom feeder brings a strong academic reputation.

And the notoriety of one of the biggest scandals in NCAA basketball.

I'll say this.....TCU football wise is a better option than A&M, but that alumni base is lacking, and I think overall we still lose money with this move. But TCU is growing as a program.

TCU better than Texas A&M? LMFAO Texas fans truely are in denial.

Tulane? SMU? What is next North Texas?

How about UL Monroe? Appalachian State (get the Smokey Mountains market)?

In football, TCU ABSOLUTELY is better than A&M, and has been for over a decade. Do you really want me to post the numbers and make you look like a bigger idiot than you normally do?

Tulane is not in consideration either. Isn't that the school LSU is scared to play???

Well they're not really adding "more" Texas teams because they're losing one.
