According to Sean Callahan, Taylor has been clocked consistently at 4.4 all summer long and has no pain whatsoever.....

That is a very good thing folks.........I mean that is a real good thing

As opposed to last season when he was clocked at 4.6.......

Seriously, this is very good. I just hope he can stay healthy now.

I dont know how much you can blame Taylor, I think that the staff needs to take the brunt of the criticism. Nebraska hasnt had a single QB improve in their system since Eric Crouch. The reality is that guys get to Lincoln and dont get any better and in some cases they actually regress.

I think Taylor will be a much more confident player and I think he really wants to have a break out year. Nebraska needs to hire a legit QB coach to come in and work with our talent and develope our players.

I hope so and I know he wants to, hope he will. And finally AMEN brother. To have the issues he had and say we just didn't have time to work with him shows a blaring problem.

I think it makes perfect sense. Installing an entire offense takes time. The thought "Let's get everyone on the same page then focus on technique," sounds reasonable enough to me. Especially when you consider what the offense will consist of.

You can spend half the day working on technique and such, or spend the entire day installing formations, schemes and plays.

What makes perfect sense to me is you have an OC working with different parts of the team on different days installing and you have position coaches working with the players who aren't working with the OC that day. And it makes perfect sense to me that the QB be one of these positions. The players get technique (scheme) and fundamentals. It doesn't have to be one or the other unless one guy is doing it all.

The problem was not that Taylor didn't have the time to work on technique and fundamentals. Beck didn't. And meanwhile the back ups are rusting also thus the reason we are losing good talent and not cultivating the talent we have.

And even your way is the way they are going to do it then they need to come forward and be open about it rather than talking about winning conference championships before hand and making excuses after. I wouldn't except I didn't have time from an employee and I sure as hell won't from someone in his position. If you don't have the time to do it delegate it.

Not disputing that a QB coach would be nice to have. Just saying that I see why Beck didn't have time for more than installing the offense last season. It would be great to have a coach for 1st down, second down and third down too. But since we don't we have to work with what we have.

As much as I hate to give callahan credit for anything he did some serious coaching up of quarterbacks.

Zac Taylor and Joe Ganz were no slouches. One a JUCO and the other a 2 star. Both had record breaking careers at Nebraska. Loved both of 'em.

LOL. You are right but having a QB coach and OC separate are realistic. Several teams do it and I think we can see why.

I see why Beck didn't have time too. That is not my position.

My position is a program bringing in the money ours does, not being able to (or knowing to) employ the needed personnel to develop the players (especially qb) that we are paying out thousands in scholarship to is alarming.

Add in the fact that Beck is brand new in the position of OC, has no history outside of high school working with quarterbacks and knew we had a quarterback with fundamental issues leaves me scratching my head.

There is a running backs coach, WR coach, TE coach, OT coach, OG coach, Secondary coach, LB coach, DL coach, but when it comes to the most important position on the team we have no specialized coaching. You're on your own Taylor!!!
