Taylor makes Manning Award Watch List - 25 players

Following his return from the Manning Camp, Taylor made the Manning Award Watch List.

People were complaining about him making the final 34 of the O'Brien watch list.........maybe he has improved more than people think.

I hope so, and I'm going into this season with a completely optimistic outlook on things. The guy put a lot of work in this offseason.......it's obvious he cares and is a competitor.

I think it's because he knows that the sky is the limit with Taylor if he can become an effective passer in any way........

There are some quick guys in college football.......but it's hard to say anyone is harder to catch than Taylor Martinez when he's healthy and has the burners on. He's supposedly 100% healthy right now and is reportedly running a 4.4 on average......

If he has improved in the passing game, things may go very well for us offensively this season.

So, a guy pays his way into the Manning camp and now he is on the Manning watch list? Well if he didn't make the list how would that make the Manning camp look that one of their guys didn't make the list?

Look, I hope and pray as much as anyone that all this work pays off for him but a returning 2 year starting QB at a big boy program is going to make just about every QB list. I wouldn't read too much into that. They are just "watch" lists. If someone is not on the watch list for any of these awards it doesn't mean they can't come out of nowhere to win it. Amir Abdullah is not on any list. What if Rex gets hurt in game 1 and then Amir goes through the year rushing for 2,000 yards? Will he not be up for any awards?

Yea I know, it only seems logical.....but there were a lot of guys who went to that camp. If anyone gets a chance you should find that list and compare it to the manning award watch list. I'm at work right now so I can't, but it would be interesting to see.

I know Geno Smith was there and he made the watch list.........but that seems like an obvious candidate

Taylor did not make the 10 players to watch list in the Big 10 from the media. What does that mean? Not a god damn thing.

The media can't see Taylor improving this summer......the Mannings can......that's all I'm saying.

I really don't give 2 shits that he's on a watch list for an award......just thought it was worth mentioning that maybe thee Mannings think he is improving. That's all I really care about. I just hope he is improved.

I guess we'll see in about 5 weeks.......but I'm dying for football so I'm speculating right now for fun.

I was not trying to attack you with my comments. If it came off that way then I apologize.

My thought process is that even though watch lists are are mire worthless than preseason polls, I would give more credence to an OBrien watch list than a Manning watch list because it is good pub for the Manning camp to put one of their students on their list. If they hadn't put him on the list then it would look bad on both Taylor and them.

As I said before, I hope he deserves it and prooves that he does. I am just a little on the cynical side.
