With 4.41 speed, 6'6 height, long arms, and leaping ability... use him occasionally as an extra WR?

Still concerned about Sweat's adjustment to being on the right side instead of his more comfortable spot on the left. So, as usual, I'll ask for input.

Q. Montez Sweat has been a left sided player throughout his time in school. We don't know how well he's going to adjust to playing primarily on the right side. Should he remain primarily on the left side or should they move Kerrigan to the right?

All the above. Kerrigan plays both sides and plays with his hand in the dirt as a left side DE on obvious passing downs. I really don't think a switch from left to right should effect Sweat that much.

OK, I hope that you're right about Sweat. Personally, I think that his effectiveness falls off a bit as he adjusts to playing and doing things completely opposite to what he's accustomed doing. We will see!

I had kind of the same thoughts until I saw him making the highlight clip from the right side.

Agreed, but so can Kerrigan and all of this is besides the point. Do you agree that there's going to be an adjustment period for both of them no matter which plays on the right? It is that little bit of hesitancy that concerns me or as @Lawrence Taylor once said and I repeat, "Let's go after them like a pack of hungry dogs!"
This doesn't happen if there's a mental or physical adjustment needed, no matter how slight that adjustment happens to be.

Exactly, and that's my point! Not only will the rookie need time, which would be shorter in his natural position, he'll also have to learn to play in effect, a new position which by definition will expand his learning curve. Maybe I'm making too big of a deal out of this, but as I recall, the question was about concerns about this player.

It is not like an OT where the change is a little more hard. I would be happy to let Kerrigan have the right side (blind) side. It really should not be much of an issue and I would bet he was moved around in college.

Speaking of RK I can't believe how under appreciated he has been here over the years. Sure he's not Von Miller but he's not paid like him. He's been damned good for a long time, he's never hurt, yet fans just don't seem to appreciate him. Heard a guy on the radio suggest he be traded, and that was before they drafted Sweat.

WTF?

Kerrigan has been an absolute cornerstone for us.

Treat Sweat like Von Miller and move him around. He is an athletic freak, so why not allow him to destroy everybody on the line?

Nice, brief interview with Sweat. I like the fact that - just like Haskins - he is not brash & appears to be somewhat of a homebody. Also like Haskins he has somewhat of a chip on his shoulder. Should be fun watching this guy play.

Why not? Apparently you don't have to be able to get open or catch to be a Redskin WR anymore.

Very true. Heading into the draft the Skins WR corps looked pretty bleak & they will have issues for a while. It will take several years to hopefully become effective, but the draft provided some possible help in this area. If they can continue to upgrade this area via the next few drafts this might actually get a lot better especially if Haskins develops.
