Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be the 4th film of James Gunn's new DC cinematic Universe. It will introduce a much darker iteration of the character than Melissa Benoist's in the Arrowverse. This will be the Kara Zor-El identity of Supergirl, but a version that is jaded and cynical and pessimistic from growing up under much more difficult circumstances than Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman.

This really makes me hope they use the brainiac story in the origin of Superman. If brainiac visits krypton and turns kandor into a miniature globe. Then that ties everything nicely.

Jason Momoa has been cast to play Lobo in an upcoming DCU Lobo movie. Update: It turns out Momoa is just playing the role of Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, not getting his own movie, at least, not yet, pending on how well the Supergirl movie does and how well his portrayal of Lobo is received.

i am already nervous about superman... it doesnt look campy... looks more serious... not as dark as Cavill's superman...

i have no problem with Mamoa being lobo... he kind of seems like the right fit for him... i am surprised lobo will be a supergirl villain... and not superman...

In this interview with Rolling Stone, James Gunn indicates that he has decided to drop the subtitle Woman of Tomorrow and simplify the name to just Supergirl, just like he decided to drop the subtitle Legacy from his Superman movie.

Lobo is cool. Attitude n looks-wise it's easy to picture Mamoa for the part.

I hope they don't cram a gang of A-list villians into 1 movie like they've done with some spidey movies. With Lobo in the mix. Can Darkseid be far behind? Both he n Brainiac need stand alone movies, particularly with the amount of Apocalypse villians they have to choose from.

Brainiac works better as a Supergirl villain than a Superman villain...

but with Lobo as the "villain" they probably do have to have another big bad since Lobo is not a villain... he is just a bounty hunter... I found it weird he is going to be in Supergirl as he works so much better as a Superman opponent...

Maybe they're gonna make Supergirl n Lobo an item. These movie makers always make major diversions from the comic book storyline.
