The Super Bowl Appetizer for myself and alot of Pens fans. Pens are 8-2 in their last 10 while the Caps are 4-3-3. The teams have split the season series with the Pens winning in DC in mid-December in SO, while the Caps won the Winter Classic on new years day in the rain. Both the Caps and Pens are hampered by injuries, Pens more talked about. Obviously Crosby and Malkin but also Letestu for the Penguins. The caps have Semin, Fehr, and Neuvy all out as well. Now the Pens have worse injury problems, but neither team is 100%. I feel as though we should be able to win this game, but I just have a feeling we are going to end up going into OT and lose...again...1-9 (or something like that) in last 10 OT games for the Capitals

LET'S GO CAPS!!!!

March 9, 2008 - The last time the Penguins beat us in the regular season without needing a shootout.

I'm hoping there's a TV near the kitchen where I'll be this afternoon. I'm brewing my first beer today -- a clone of the Great Lakes chocolate porter called Edmund Fitzgerald.

Awesome. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't come out great. I know a few people who brew their own and they said it took them a few tries do get it down. Good luck though. Break the streak and brew a good one. :D

The guy at the brew store told us we picked a really good first beer to brew. Apparently, even if we screw up a little bit, since it's a porter, we won't notice all that much. Keeping wild strains out is definitely going to be our biggest concern.

Neither team has allowed the other to really establish anything yet. Good defense so far.

The Caps had the first sustained offensive zone possession. But they really didn't get good chances because the Penguins just got into the lanes and blocked the shots.

did I head that Boudreau was offered a pro contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates to be a left fielder?
that cat has led a pretty interesting life (was also in 'Slapshot').

Good work in front of the net by Laich. Michalek tried to block the shot but missed, and Laich went around him to pick up the rebound and shuffle it 5-hole.

Good shot by Orpik, but unfortunately for both him and Green, Green's face got in the way.
