Probably one of the coolest things I am hearing this week is just how many Bronco fans there are in San Fran. Been listening to some of the local radio guys that are in town and they said that when we played the Seahawks in New York it was seriously 20-1 Seahawks to Broncos fans where this time it is reversed where they think it is 20-1 Broncos to Panthers fans. Maybe this time around it is Cam having to go to a silent count for the game and Von and Ware can get a very nice jump off the line getting to Cam and slowing down that run game!

So something I just now realized. If we win peyton would have a 14-13 playoff record. So for all the grief about his struggles he could end up with a winning record in the playoffs. That would be cool in what it does to the 'his place in history' argument

It will certainly feel like watching history - as the Super Bowl kicks off.

It used to be the two week wait before the Super Bowl - would kill the Broncos. This was because the crafty NFC guys realized you had to stop John Elway to beat the Broncos - and they had two weeks to practice doing it. It wasn't until TD showed up that the Broncos couldn't be stopped by gaming one player.

In Super Bowl 48 again - The Seahawks only had to shut down one player - Peyton Manning. The two weeks practice helped them field a game plan that got Manning and the Broncos out of rhythm.

This time the shoe is on the other foot - as Cam "Superman" Newton is the one player that must be contained to shut down the Panther's offense, but it really only the one guy. Now Superman gets to go up against the the #1 defense in the NFL - with two weeks to practice for him. Cam Newton will make some dynamic plays in the game, but I think the Broncos have this one and have the athletes to stop Newton and get into his head.

I've felt pretty good about our chances tomorrow, but I heard an analyst on the radio this morning bring up a point that made me a little uneasy. He was talking about how the Carolina DTs could present problems for our interior o-line. Any thoughts on this?

This isn't news. They have a pretty stout defense and their pass rush is something I've heard about almost non-stop. Statistically their defense is very similar to the Patriots, and their front plays not unlike the Patriots. Our line handled that just fine, save a few outrageously huge sacks. In the playoffs the Broncos much-maligned offensive line has looked pretty solid in pass protection, though.

Their biggest defensive weakness is their secondary. Past Norman they are serviceable at best and with the depth we have at WR there should be some opportunities. I honestly think Norman takes DT out of the game in part because of his own skill set and in greater part because DT just hasn't shown that he's willing to battle for position and use his size to his advantage. Norman taking DT out of the game is fine though, because a quiet DT essentially takes Norman out of the game as well. If they move Norman to the other side, one of those other guys has to cover DT, which could spell trouble for them.

Are the Pats DTs as formidable as Short and Lotelui?

I don't know how they graded out, but I know the Pats were a solid team up front, behind just the Broncos in sacks.

No team has ever beaten both Eli Manning and Peyton Manning in the same season. Mannings are 10-0.

I really have no idea but it would be a sweet stat if true

Peyton Manning...Super Bowl 50 MVP ! Going to be a reality. Soooooo Ready for this game! This has probably been the longest week I can ever remember in my Broncos life ! The clock has been moving excruciatingly slow alright. :)

Less than 24 hours to go....

The anticipation is building. I started really feeling it on Thursday. By tomorrow morning I'm going to be jumping out of my skin.

I personally cannot take another look at any of my favorite sports and Broncos specific web-sites. I've read all I can possibly read about this game. I've seen predictions range from Panthers winning 45-17 to Broncos winning 17-13. I've seen predictions of Newton running for 100+ yards and throwing for 4 TDs. For the most part people seem to be thinking the Panthers have this one. I'd say at least 75% of the media, and to be honest I was surprised with how many were taking the Broncos.

Even my wife told me she thinks the Panthers will win, but hopes otherwise.

Whatever happens, I can't control it and while my anticipation and excitement for the game is building by the minute I can honestly say I'm not the least bit worried. I have to ask myself, win or lose, was this season that included the Broncos 8th Super Bowl more fun than it would have been without a trip to the Super Bowl? The answer is yes. Without question, yes.

Now that's my perspective as a fan. A fan who has to wake up Monday morning and go to work regardless of the outcome of the game. I certainly do not expect the players to take this approach. In fact, I imagine they will come out inspired and play a game that will make us proud of our Broncos.

Until then, it's going to be a long night tonight and a longer day tomorrow! Go Broncos!

The Broncos pass rush protection problems have been more against our Tackles than it has been for interior pressure. Just looking now and PFF has Vasquez graded as their 10th best pass blocking OL player. So to me you have Vasquez try to get 1-on-1 with Lotuloleia or whatever his name is then have Paradis try to help with Short with Mathis who has actually graded out very well as well. When interior pressure has gotten home it has been more on a delayed A-Gap blitz than it has been the DT's getting home. This is why I would love to see the Broncos go to a 4-wide set. Helps the OL to see the protections much better and limits how much the Panthers can disguise their blitzes.

I think the big X-factor in this game is going to be how our O-line performs. They have to give Peyton some time in the pocket and they have to open some holes in the running game.

I been hearing of a grinning kubiak ...Manning must be lighting up practice

When Manning is on nothing will stop him ...all the same lets hope the OL will keep it real ..

You know - even if the Broncos were not so inclined - they pretty much have to fulfill the expectation that they will say this one's for Pat - if they win.

As for being a Bronco fan - the first four Super Bowl appearances ended in increasingly large blow outs, then the Broncos won 2 in a row as Elway ended his career. Two years ago there was the debacle against Seattle. After an early out in the playoffs John Elway wants to change the temperament of the team - he wants a team that will - if they lose - go down kicking and screaming to the end. Even if the Broncos lose today - if they go down kicking and screaming - this will be one of my favorite seasons of all 55 of them.

I think - today - the kicking and screaming temperament implant that Kubiak and Phillips brought to this team is actually more profound than simply losing valiantly - I think this Bronco team has what it takes to throw the last shovel of dirt on the season grave of any team in the NFL. I think we will see the Broncos play their best game of the season today.

If the Broncos do play there best game of the year today they sure will have picked the best day to do it. Seven hours till game time. Watching with my son and some pizza. My son is more pumped up then I am. Let the good times roll. Broncos 23-20.

MJD and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila seem to be the only ones bold enough to take Denver. I'm fine with that. We've been pretty good with the underdog role recently.

Just heard Terrell Davis on NFL Net call the Broncos offensive line the "X-factor" in today's game. In particular, he referred to Short and Lotuloleia as "beasts".

Uh-oh. On CBSSports, Prisco predicted the Broncos to win. A worse harbinger of doom, there is none.
