Hornacek went small in the fourth quarter and the move paid off. With shooters everywhere, the floor widened and Dragic could reach the basket, draw fouls, or set up teammates time and time again; we saw shades of what D'Antoni did for Nash. Defensively, there was a cost in the form of J.J. Hickson's offensive rebounds and dunks, but the unit's mobility helped stifle Ty Lawson and pressure the Nuggets into shooting jumpers under duress. Markieff Morris missed his final four field goal attempts, but enjoyed a tremendous game, very active and effective on both ends. The box score won't tell you everything, but it's pretty revealing in this case: 15 free throw attempts, 3 steals, and 3 blocks! Wow. I'll need to look up the last time that a Sun recorded that set of numbers. Gerald Green brought the Suns back into the game with his threes, and Ish Smith, normally an irrelevant player when Dragic and Bledsoe are both healthy, delivered 7 high-quality minutes in the second half: 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 points, 0 turnovers, 0 missed shots.

When you possess depth and players who fit together, you'll often find the right combination sooner or later.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned horny going with a small lineup. They guy seems like he makes the right call the majority of the time and has the boys playing some pretty impressive ball games!

Here you are, 15 FTA/3 STL/ 3 BLK by a Phoenix Sun in a game: Charles Barkley (once, actually in the '93-'94 season opener), Tom Chambers (once), and Larry Nance (once).

That's impressive company: two Ring of Honor members and an All-Star in Nance who the Suns traded for a couple other Ring of Honor members (Kevin Johnson and Dan Majerle).

Unfortunately, Barkley missed 10 of his 18 free throw attempts in that game and the Suns lost.

Indeed, that company suggests what Morris is capable of when he's focused.
